Crinums are a genus in the amaryllis family, their name originates from the Greek word 'Krinon' which means white lily. They have a long history of cultivation and throughout the world have been used traditionally to cure ailments and diseases. The Crinum Earrings feature fine sterling silver hoops wrapped with fine silver wire. Coiled tendrils of fine sterling wire meander inside each hoop, with a lovely AAA rhodolite garnet oval enhancing the central loop. Along the outer perimeter of each hoop is a fine silver rollo chain, from which dangles a rich assemblage of stones in a dramatic colour palette. Stunning purple garnet teardrops are clustered with plum garnet rondelles, rhodolite garnet faceted rounds and tiny freshwater seed pearls. Each stone is suspended from hand made fine silver ball pins, and a lustrous South Sea pearl is suspended from the centre. These palatial hoop earrings measure a touch over 1.5" in length, and have been oxidised and polished for that old world charm. All metals are sterling (925) and fine (999) silver.
