The yogurt maker can make up to 6 cups of yogurt with the option of creating up to eight different flavors at a time. The taste of the yogurt will vary depending on the milk used, the type of starter used, how long the yogurt is left to set, and any flavoring added. Experimenting with these different elements allows for creating favorite personal recipes. The included thermometer stirrer takes the guesswork out of making yogurt at home. To use, place the stirrer in the milk until the red bulb is immersed. The "add starter" level on the stirrer indicates when the milk is exactly the right temperature to add the yogurt starter. The electronic yogurt maker also features a digital LCD display with an electric timer, a warning beep that sounds 5 and 10 minutes before the end of the cycle, and an automatic shut-off function at the end of the cooking cycle. The unit's safety features include its polarized plug to reduce the risk of electrical shock and a short power-supply cord to reduce risk resulting from tripping over a longer cord. The compact unit comes with a heater base, a thermometer stirrer, eight jars with lids, and a unit cover. To clean, the yogurt maker should not be immersed in water, simply wash by hand with a mild detergent and a damp cloth. The thermometer stirrer, the cover of the yogurt maker, and the jar lids should also be washed by hand, but the yogurt containers are dishwasher safe. A user manual with recipes is also included.
