This hand-painted gravy boat was inspired by the story "The Inanimate Tragedy" and is part of my "Les Urnes Utiles" collection which are all based on the works of Edward Gorey, my favorite author and illustrator. This would be perfect for the Halloween season, or for a Gorey fan year-round. Also great for an unswaying pessimist! This has been painted by me in my not-so-steady hand using a special permanent enamel. It is not a transfer and brush strokes are apparent. Hand wash with care. The gravy boat itself is vintage, was purchased used, and may show some minor general wear but is free of chips cracks or crazing. This particular piece is unmarked but is substantially heavy like restaurant ware. It measures about 8" x 3" x 4" Thanks for shopping The Backward Glance!
