Acetazolamide, sold under the trade name Diamox, is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that is used to treat altitude sickness. Acetazolamide is available as a generic drug and is also used as a diuretic.
I've only used this once (Mt Whitney) and it seemed to work quite well as I felt no effects from the high altitude. It does make you pee, so take it in the morning instead of at night.
