You can see that it is a bit bulky under clothes. Below is a large on a 1 year old who is about 23 pounds. It's a bit big now, but it will fit for a long time. 9.5 months, almost 20 pounds in size medium. Soft and comfortable for mom to hold, too. Size LARGE on a 5 month old 18 pound baby. Sure, it's huge on her, but it works fine like this at night, and doesn't leak at all. Upsizing like this means it comes up really high, up to her armpits and down to her knees, but that's ok. She really fits a medium better. But I think it's cute when it's really big like this. I know not everyone will agree with that, and my daughter suggested I not use this picture, but I love it. You'd have to hold a baby with soft wool on to appreciate this. It's so soft and comfy! I just love these covers! Of course, most of her clothes won't fit over this, but that's a detail that can be worked out with some carefully selected outfits, or in some climates, baby might not even need anything but a little shirt and some botties or socks.
