My old Greasys finally needed to be replaced about 6 months ago. I was so disappointed! First off the sole pattern is worthless, the grooved sole may look 'cool' but it has no traction. The leather was marred in several places. And the first time I wore the boots in snow, the color ran off the boot. That's right the COLOR bled. Off. The. Leather. UNREAL! Don't waste your money on these impostors. The quality is terrible. No problem! My first Docs from 9 years ago had a padded collar and 6 eyelets. I went with the more traditional 8 eyelet boot for my 2nd pair. The height of the boot takes some getting used to, but after about 5 days, the leather becomes pliable, making the height less noticeable; this is when you can begin to appreciate the ankle support, which I need. Don't try to lace too tightly; I found once I had laced the boots all the way up, pointing my toe toward my forehead and then tying the laces, worked best for all-day wear. Exceptional shipping and customer service, plus all you expect from docs re: comfort, durability, comfort, style, and they are really comfortable.
