This replica of an ornate Triptych is an exquisite example of Russian enamel and gold work. The central panel of the Transfiguration is flanked by the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and St. Vladimir, Enlightener of Russia. We have tried to reproduce this piece much as it appeared when the then Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovitch (Holy New Martyr Nicholas II), presented it with his comrades to a member of his regiment in 1889. These beautiful prints are mounted on both sides of baltic birch plywood. The height is approximately 10 inches, open width (above, and below right) 13-1/2 inches, closed width (below left) 6-1/2 inches. The inside depicts enamel which is predominantly gold with red, white, and blue. The outside is dominated by the intricate enamel patterns, accented by red edges and brass hinges. A truly stunning addition to anyone’s icon corner, and a wonderful gift for a presentation or someone very special in our lives.
