I will show you have you can create a slideshow with captured frames from a movie. First we need to capture video frames from the movie and then we will create the actual slideshow. I will use two different programs for this tutorial. Both are available as either free software or fully functional trials. I will use Fast video indexer to capture video frames from the movie and Inzomia image viewer to create the actual slideshow from the captured video frames. Start Fast video indexer and add the movie you want to create a slideshow from. Go to the settings dialog and make sure “extract video frames” and “enable playlist generation” is checked and that “enable web page generation” and “enable index photo generation” is unchecked. Close the settings dialog and click Next to start extracting video frames from the movie. When indexing has completed go to the result page and click on the video and you will see a list of all extracted movie frames. Right click on the movie frames and remove the frames you don’t want in the slideshow. When you are done removing frames click on the “playlist” button. If you have the Inzomia image viewer installed it will start with the extracted video frames in the playlist. If you do not have the viewer installed, download it first and then click the playlist button. Now in the Inzomia image viewer you should have all the captured movie frames in the playlist. Click the “prefs” button to open the preferences dialog. On the “slideshow tab” you can set how many seconds each image will be displayed. The transitions tab is where you can select if the slideshow will have transitions and how the transitions should look. If you check the “show transitions in navigation” box you can click on different images in the playlist to try the transitions. When you are done with changing the settings click the ok button to close the dialog. Next click on the ”Save” button, in the playlist window, to open the save playlist dialog. From the file format dropdown list select “Self running exe slideshow”, select a filename for your slideshow and click “Save” in the dialog. Click yes on the dialog asking you if you should show a help dialog before the slideshow.
