It's got a bit of hype to it, and while I don't think it's THAT good, I do believe that it does work really well and if I had to choose between my cheap $3 and the $20 SU, then I'd rather spend the extra money for it. Not sure how it compares to the Sephora brand though, but they're not that much cheaper. Plus, I like to use a q-tip and eye makeup remover (Lancome's my favorite) to gently clean the pad and squeeze onto tissue to pat dry however often you need to. I have this and I liked it a lot. I originally had some $3 cheap one, and while there isn't that much of a difference between that and this one, I will give it props for being able to get a better grip on lashes and being more ergonomic for your hand and eye.
