The following are tips provided by Google Rankings. * Keep in mind that when choosing keywords and keyword phrases, 31% of people doing searches enter two words, 25% enter three words, and 19% search by entering only a single word. * Avoid expending resources and energy on optimizing web pages with keywords that inherently solicit excessive competition by virtue of sheer popularity. In other words, the chances of ranking well for a page optimized for the keyword phrase, “weight loss” is virtually non-existent in the overall scheme of things. * On the other hand, optimizing your web page for words no one will ever use is equally counter-productive. * Do not use keywords that have nothing or very little to do with the content of the page. Search engine spiders know the difference and can base the relevancy on context as well as content. * Avoid using words that can get your site banned from the search engines. * Do not use words in ALT (IMG) tags that will cause your site to be filtered or banned from the search results. * Avoid dynamic content when optimizing for a specific keyword and only use it when the application demands it. * Make your entire site as relevant as possible by placing keyword-specific content onto seperate pages. * Optimize each page for one specific keyword or keyword phrase. * Do not publish your web site to the internet until it is 100% complete. no comments yet. Because there are no tricks to be found here. There are simply two types of SEO. There are white hat methods and black hat methods. The former is ethical, while the latter… well, not so much. I strictly adhere to white hat SEO methods of search engine optimization and marketing. When I do discuss SEO tricks, it’ll be to simply warn you against employing them. Therefore, as I begin this string of posts, I will start with basic, no-nonsense SEO methods that follow all recommended guidelines as stipulated by the major search engines. I do this for two reasons. First, in business, the manner in which every detail of every task is carried out is a clear indication of the underlying integrity of the whole. Announced via a press release earlier this morning, Microsoft announced it will acquire aQuantive, for $66.50 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $6 billion. This comes the day after WPP buys 24/7 Real Media, 2 weeks after Yahoo! acquires Right Media, and just a few weeks after Google takes over DoubleClick. aQuantive, which has approximately 2600 employees, will continue to operate from its Seattle headquarters as part of Microsoft’s Online Services Business. The combination of Microsoft and aQuantive takes the Company’s advertising platform to the next level in its ability to serve Microsoft’s first party audience assets like MSN, Windows Live, Xbox Live, and Office Live, as well as for third party publishers and applications such as Facebook and Activision game titles.
