My name is Stephi Stewart. If you're in a situation like I was when I started planning my wedding, then you're probably just realizing that weddings cost A LOT more than you ever imagined. I quickly realized that if I wanted to have a beautiful wedding on the budget that I had, I was going to have to do something to stretch my money. But the question was: "What could I do to save money on some of these expensive parts of my wedding?" I wasn't a "professional" wedding planner, and I didn't know the first thing about how to save money on my wedding. So I did what I had to do. I began by asking a lot of questions, and I started to do a lot of research. But as you've probably found yourself, your local wedding dress shop isn't about to tell you how to save 50% or more off of a wedding dress, and your local wedding cake store isn't about to tell you how to talk them down on their prices. This is where the wedding industry is at a HUGE advantage to you You don't get married very often, and therefore you're not an EXPERT at planning a wedding and getting good prices. But THEY ARE experts at getting brides to pay TOP DOLLAR for whatever they're selling to you. Let me tell you a little story. When I first decided to plan my own wedding, everyone told me that I was CRAZY to expect the kind of wedding I wanted to have for the money I had to spend. But I'm a determined woman. I wasn't interested in settling for less than perfect so I didn't. I spent about six months solid going BEHIND THE SCENES in the wedding industry and figuring out all of the little (and big) ways that wedding "vendors" charge brides top dollar for items and services that can be found for FAR LESS money if you know where to look and what to ask. I learned everything I possibly could about how to get discounts, how to negotiate better terms, and how to turn the tables in my favor. I found many secrets, loopholes, and even outright SCAMS that cost brides like you and me thousands and thousands of dollars that they didn't need to spend.
