We'd like a swing but by no means are wedded to this brand or style. I think it would be nice to get one that swings both back and forth and side to side like this one. These of course are available at places like Target, Babies R'us, baby stores, online, etc.

I see this one also has the plug feature - we had a different FP swing, but all I cared about was not having to replace the batteries every 10 minutes, since, like Noodle, Hunter was addicted to the swing...

This really did turn out to be that proverbial essential item. I highly recommend this over other models because it can be switched between a swinging motion and a gliding motion, whereas most swings only have the swinging motion option. Noodle adored the glide and basically only slept in here or on us for the first 4 months of his life.
