Not pleased with their technical support. Their search is case sensitive - basically worthless. no option it for case. It requires that you know precisely how a person wrote a word. for example if I search for "help" it will not return "Help"It has been down more then they claim. Annoying ad's at registration time. Requires a cell phone # to complete registration. Rather then pull the ad till they have it fixed they continue to abuse new users. Their backups of YOUR data can not be used if you want to move to a new forum. In affect they OWN YOUR DATA. I would look elsewherePosted by aperson at 7:30 PM on 12/13/10Report Spam
They will pull a perfectly fine board with no advance warning and delete it completely. Backups included. And then give you some cockamammy excuse as to how you violated their terms of service. But will not give you specifics. It is the fact that they did not give us so much as even an hour or minute notice that we were in violation and they were going to delete us that is so wrong, unprofessional, and devastating. Our grandmas had four years of family history, photos, anectidotes, and discussions about their children, grandchildren, and pets, and without warning it is all gone. Forever lost. The last time I personally made a backup of the online content was 6 months ago right before my mom died. I have since posted two long threads about her and mothers in general and it is all wiped away. Will NOT be using their service again and will warn anyone and everyone who thinks about using or keeping their stuff with freeforums that it is a bad idea. Pros: Free and full featuredCons: They often redsign the forum without user imput.Annoying periodic reminders automaticllly sent to forum users without administrators knowledgeThey will delete your site if it has not had any new post for 60 days so don't spend too much time building the site unless you can be sure you'll be getting frequent and regular posts. I spent a lot of time building my forum and just when I got set to really launch it...they deleted itDeleted forums cannot be rescued.
