There are so many stories of people being cheated by Mr. Ward. I've read many of those posted on this thread and they are truly sad, especially those that cause children to question the promises made by adults that go unfulfilled. I am particularly touched by the comments about the family hardship of "monkles@mac.com" , and are happy to make this offer to you. We will ship a small climber to you at our expense and at no charge. Let's just call it "Christmas in July". Call me direct or call Aaron at the office to make arrangements to get the climber to you. (I am also sending an email to monkles@mac.com just in case you don't get this message.) We wish we could extend this offer to all victims, but unfortunately cannot due to the large amount of money involved. Wendell L. Jones President Zia Toys Inc Albuquerque,NM www.ziatoysinc.com 1-888-400-4942

Rodney, can we just get our $340 back? I'm out of work, we're forced to stay in a hotel while our house is being de-molded. We really just want our money... PLEASE.You can email me at monkles@mac.com

Wendell you are a damm liar. Answer how we did we meet? I responded to an ad for a workshop you had for rent in Feb 2006. I needed a space where I could make domes. In Nov 2006 you and your brother proposed a partnership to me. I DECLINED. You evicted me flat out and filed a patent for what was mine. I have been making domes since 1998. YOU HAVE BEEN A REAL ESTATE FOR THE PAST 20 years. When did you ever have an interest in geodesic domes. you idiot, the only reason you make domes is to make money and it was easy to copy cat me. I never worked for you. I have been self employed for the past 11 years. The police investigated me but the didn't think I did anything criminal. You are the thief Wendell and you are the one who continues to try to sabotage my work. You are in for a big surprise real soon and the truth will shine like a diamond. You are a very wealthy man. Why don't you pick on someone else who can afford to hire a giant law firm? You will soon see the undeniable truth that making domes for me is about the joying of making toys for children and not about making money. good luck old boy.

Zia Toys Inc. is affiliated with New Mexico Rubber Mulch LLC, the New Mexico PermaLIfe Distributor, and STORMAX USA. We have no affiliation with Rodney Ward or Dome Climber. (As a side note, it hurts my ears to call them "domes" since that term refers to an enclosed structure - just a quirk of mine, I'm kind of a stickler for correct usage of the English language - after writing professionally for 35 years!) I'll try once again to clear up an important point. We are not affiliated with Rodney Ward or Dome Climber in any way. My wife and I formed Zia Toys Inc. in November of 2006 (see our registration and corporate status at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commision (http://www.nmprc.state.nm.us/cgi-bin/prcdtl.cgi?2805158+ZIA+TOYS+INC). Rodney Ward worked for us during the period when we developed the hubs for which we now have been awarded a patent. I terminated him for cause after we found some improprieties. People who have done business with Ward will know what I mean. To add to the confusion, Rodney has used the name "Zia Box'" , which has caused some undue confusion. Call our office if you have any questions. Don't be surprised that we answer with "Corporate Offices" when you call, because we operate other companies from that same office. If you have any questions or concerns or just need clariification, call me directly, toll free. ---Wendell L. The department is building a case against Rodney WARD and needs to hear from ALL VICTIMS!

Is that comment really from Rodney Ward? I haven't given up hope that he'll return the $340 he stole from us at Christmastime. Does anyone have info on how to recoup that money? We ordered from domeclimber.com and never received the goods and my kids were extremely upset. I would love any help anyone can provide.

I want to take this opportunity to clarify a few things that customers might want to know: 1. We are not affiliated with Dome Climber in any way. 2. We are a family-owned, family-operated New Mexico company building geodesic climbers in Albuquerque. 3. We have shipped our climbers all over North America including the US, Canada and Mexico. We have climbers as far away as the African Continent (Tanzania) and Singapore. 4. We hold a patent on our uniquely-designed hubs. 5. We ship the day we get your order and payment. 6. We are proud of our reputation for ethical business practices and work hard to gain our customers trust. See our Better Business Bureau rating at www.bbbsw.org 7. We have climbers available for IMMEDIATE shipment! Call me toll-free anytime at 1-888-400-4942 to place an order or to ask questions. If I'm not in, ask for Aaron. Wendell L. The following user "tta" is Wendell Jones. All of my current incoming orders are backed by the Google checkout 100% buyer protection and 100% satisfaction refund policy.

I am so sorry for any distress I may have caused due to my bad business judgment and lack of help .I am trying to get back on my feet business wise. My company and as well as myself personally fell victim to bankruptcy last year. I have several new inventions that will be even more popular and sustainable as well as affordable. All of my current incoming orders are backed by the Google checkout 100% buyer protection and refund policy.I have been studying plastics and geodesic geometry for the past 15 years. Unfortunately I rented a workshop from Wendell Jones, a commercial real agent for the past 20 years. When my nosy landlord Mr Jones found out I did have a patent for my latest invention, he evicted me from his property and filed a patent using the largest patent law firm in the state as part inventor along with his brother howard jones. This is all I do and I was personally devastated. Mr. Jones is copy cat parasite to say the least. Here is the website showcasing their commercial property that I rented and turned into the biggest mistake of my life ...http://www.stormaxusa.com/Sincerely,Rodney WardMemorable quote forThe Fountainhead (1949) by Ayn Rand Ellsworth Toohey: There's the building that should have been yours. I want to clear up some confusion. My wife and I own and operate Zia Toys Inc. (www.ziatoysinc.com) Someone recently was double charged for a climber by a company with a similar name that shipped a package COD. We do not send our products COD. When you buy from Zia Toys, we work hard to ship the day we run your card and it will arrive within 2-5 business days, depending on where you live. Since we started keeping track on January first, we have never failed to get the product to FEDEX the same day we ran a card. (Last week, we shipped a climber to an address in Colorado that arrived the next day! How's that for service?) As one of our 2 busy seasons approaches, we will do everything in our power to get your climber to FEDEX the same day you order it. If we expect a 1 or 2-day delay, we will tell you when you order. FEDEX will provide you with tracking information via email, so you will know exactly where your climber is and when to expect it. To order, or to get answers to your questions, call us toll-free at 1-888-400-4942 (1-505-344-0744). You WILL be happy with our service and our products. NO GAMES, SCAMS, or other NONSENSE at Zia Toys. You pay, we ship! Wendell Jones, President, ZIa Toys Inc., founded November 15, 2006 (NM SCC Number: 2805158)

Get the domeclimber from the original company (Zia Toys) that creep stole this product from. They also have their information listed in this thread. http://www.ziatoysinc.com or call 505-344-0744 (1-888-400-4942).

II bought a domeclimber in August 2008 (unfortunately, I didn't learn about the many comments and problems until after placing my order or I probably wouldn't have done so). However, I did actually have a positive experience. I received the climber in a timely manner after placing the order. While I was assembling it, I realized a hub piece was missing (oh no!!), I contacted Mr. Ward and he promptly mailed me the needed piece. We have been happy with our domeclimber ever since. I am sorry that so people have had a very different experience

I don't want this to get buried in the thread, so I'm just pasting it to the top. Everyone please do this--Officer Emillio's original entry was posted on 1/30 Hello Everyone. This is CRO Lorenzo Emillio of the Tucumcari NM Police Department. We are currently and actively investigating this issue, and request your assistance. If you are a victim, please send us an email. In your email please provide the date of order, status of order, status of funds and list (if possible) dates/times and nature of contact with this company, including who you spoke to. Please do NOT send your credit card information at this time. If this information is needed later, we will contact your directly. I'm glad I found this site before ordering from domeclimber.I ordered the large climber from Zia Toys and it was delivered as promised for my son's birthday. It is plenty large enough, and there were quite a few kids climbing at the same time at his party. Seems solid and should last a long time. Went together fairly straightforward.Bryan in Oakland

It's Wendell Jones with Zia Toys Inc. in Albuquerque again. I've posted a couple of messages here before over the past several months. I recently provided information regarding our former employee to Officer Emillio of the Tucumcari Police department and I recommend you contact him if your issue is not resolved. We have sold a lot of climbers to many of you who paid for, but did not recieve one from Mr. Ward. Many have said that we are hard to find. Check us out at www.ziatoysinc.com or call 505-344-0744 (1-888-400-4942). We have several Kid Klimbers in stock now that the holiday season is over, and will be happy to fill your order immediately. We make a 12-ft diameter, 6-foot high climber that we sell for $395 and an 8-foot diameter, 4-foot high climber that we sell for $295. Delivery via FEDEX ground takes 3-5 business days, depending on where you live in the continental US. You will find that our climbers are surprisingly similar to those you've paid for and didn't get. We hold patents on the hubs and will ship within 48 hours of receipt of funds. Let us know if we can help. Our Kid Klimbers are year-round climbers and your kids will love them, even in the snow. We are not affiliated with Mr. Ward or his business in any way. We appreciate your business and stand behind our product. Thanks. Wendell L. Jones, President Zia Toys Inc., 100 Mescalero NW Albuquerque NM, 87107 505-344-0744

We ordered one for christmas for my kids.. Family and everyone pitched in so we could get it... Children don't understand being SCAMED they just feel hurt. I have contacted my CC and thankfully they are refunding my money. I will have to call them back now. I kept calling thanking maybe there was a backorder or something. But after not getting phone returns, email returns I called. Now I'm going to call the BBB and see what I can do to make this guy pay. Not only is he scaming, He is upsetting thousands of kids.

An investigator from the Better Business Bureau called me recently, and after we talked a bit she stated she was going to post an article from the New Mexico newspaper in this thread. The BBB is aware of this thread. http://www.qcsunonline.com/news/complaints_6792___article.html/better_dome.html

Hey damien71, Another despicable thing is that Rod Ward is trying to pin all this on some poor sap that may have worked for him. The guy stole the money that was going to be used to ship the domes? Give me a break. So all these unfulfilled orders are built, but cannot ship because you don't have money to send them, is that what you're saying Golfer 1944/Rod Ward? You are pure evil. You take the money from people, with no intent of ever fulfilling the order, then try to blame someone who was unfortunate enough to work for you. I hope you rot in prison. Here's the police officer's contact info again, compliments of 47Chevy, so it's not buried in the thread. Fraud victims of Rodney Ward/Dome Climbers should contact Tucumcari NM Police Department, Officer Lorenzo Emillio at (575)461-2160

It's good to see that the Quay County Sun responded to our phone calls, but it looks like a token gesture to stop our annoying phone calls: A quickly slapped-together article that probably appears only online (does anyone know if it made it to the actual printed paper?). I'm also disappointed by the few comments I saw at the bottom of the article. Everyone is so quick to accept a "sob story" in because of how tough the economic situation is right now. But isn't it funny that his story kept changing and that this is the first instance anyone has heard of the theft from his company? Every time one story wears out, he makes a new one up.

Golfer 1944, where did you get your statistics "50 units /day or about 1000/month"? Does not mesh with the observations of the local police department... "He has a few assembled sitting in his front yard". Not exactly the hub of activity one would expect for a home business that builds a thousand units a month. Rodney and his mom must not sleep much. Golfer, I notice you accidently found the other string as well, and give a glowing review there also. Odd behaviour for just a satisfied customer who "stumbled across the site". We will no doubt be hearing much less from you when your alter ego goes to the iron bar inn.

Definitely! Let's get this guy put in jail! He scammed me for $500 and I couldn't afford a decent gift for my kids for Christmas!

Fraud victims of Rodney Ward/Dome Climbers should contact Tucumcari NM Police Department, Officer Lorenzo Emillio at (575)461-2160.

Here's an updated article written regarding this company and its activities: http://www.qcsunonline.com/news/complaints_6792___article.html/better_dome.html

It's been swell, guys, but this may be my final post. After having placed my order in mid-October and filing my complaints in early November (at the same time, Rod said he refunded my order, but never actually did), here are my results: The BBB processed my case and then closed it because Rod failed to respond. I never heard anything back from the FTC or the iC3, but, to be fair, I didn't go back to their websites to check on the progress of the complaint. Just before the holidays, I sent Rod another email to notify him that the refund he claimed to have given me was never credited to my account and that I would contact the NM Attorney General after the holidays--he had until that time to fix things. Yesterday I got a letter from my bank (I used my Wachovia check card for the purchase). They said that the disupute I filed had been resolved as of January 8th and the "provisional credit" that they had credited my account during their investigation was now permanent. I was days away from calling the NM Attorney General. So, I'll probably continue to check back her (just because I love the drama and I'm pulling for all you guys), but my battle is over. I'll still go ahead and contact the webhost and UPS to do my part to have him shut down. I can't be sure, but I think my success came from the very direct promise that I would call the Attorney General. Maybe it would help those of you who have unresolved disputes to keep Rod posted as to your past actions and future plans (i.e. "I have filed with x, y, and z. I will wait another two weeks before contacting the NM D.A.). I truly believe he reads his email, if only to keep abreast of what kind of action people are taking against him. If he thinks you've given up or already done the worst of what you can/will do, then you'll probably never get a response. But if you keep making promises to make his life just a little more difficult on a regular basis, then maybe it'll add up. I suspect that's the cause of my success. Good luck!

And the beat goes on... At Zia Toys Inc. we have a few 12-ft and 8-ft diameter climber kits, as well as Hub Kits, available for immediate shipment. We will be happy to take your order and strive to ship via FEDEX within 48 hours of receipt of your valid credit card number. Wendell L. Jones, President, Zia Toys Inc. 1-888-400-4942 or 505-344-0744. We designed and manufacture the original Kid Klimber. We hold the patent on the unique hubs used in our climbers. Check us out at the local Better Business Bureau (www.bbbsw.org). Good luck in your quest to resolve your dispute with the other manufacturer.

If you are reading this message you have been SCAMMED by Dome Climber, Rodney Ward and Ziabox, or you could be if you purchase a dome climber from his company. My experience, which is very similar to all the others I have read. - Mid-November I ordered a dome climber from the website www.domeclimber.com. - I received an email confirmation stating the transaction has been successfully processed and the dome would be shipped via UPS ground within 3 weeks. - Just before Christmas, I emailed to ask why I had not yet received the dome and to say I wanted it before Christmas. - 12/24/08 I received an email from Rodney Ward stating the dome climber will not be arriving in time for Christmas and he included a Tracking Number form UPS Ground Service, which guaranteed the package, would arrive by 1/6/09. - 1/8/09 the package still had not arrived so I called UPS gave them my tracking number and they said that the billing information has been sent to UPS, but the dome had never been picked up. After learning this, I immediately emailed, called, and left a message that I wanted to cancel my order and have my credit card credited for the amount I paid. - When I did not hear back, I began researching and found there are nearly a hundred people like me who simply wanted to purchase birthday and Christmas presents for their children but in the process were scammed by Rodney Ward and Dome Climber. I hope that if we all take the following action, we will put a stop to Rodney Ward’s corrupt business at Dome Climber from taking people’s money and never delivering the domes. 1. Contact your credit card company and tell that that Rodney Ward of Dome Climber has scammed you. Your credit card company will likely file a dispute, which can take up to 45 days to resolve. 2. Contact Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org to file a complaint. 3. Contact the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov and file a complaint. 4. Contact UPS at 1-800-PICK-UPS and notify them of the problem. 5. Contact Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov 6. Contact the Quay County Sun, the newspaper who wrote an article about Rodney Ward, at 575-403-5845 and ask them to continue their coverage of this story. 7. Contact the web server company for Domeclimber.com and ask them to shut down the site. Instructions provided by a posting just below. Thank you for taking time to stop to Rodney Ward from committing fraud and shutting down Dome Climber

This is by far the worst experience I've ever had purchasing from a company. Not only was I ripped off for almost $500, I could not communicate with this company via email or phone to figure out what was going on. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT BUY FROM DOMECLIMBER.COM!!!

I accidentally ran across this site while posting a comment on the domeclimber site. I just thought I'd relate my recent experience with this company. I ordered a dome at a very late date (December 17th) but I didn't receive the order confirmation email that they said would follow. I tried calling to no avail and sent several emails as well inquiring whether or not my order was processed as I did not see any charges to my credit card, but still no replies. I had just about given up hope when I received an email back indicating that my order was indeed processed and that I would be receiving my dome via UPS on December 24th. My dome did arrive on the 24th as promised. These people may not have very efficient customer service but I have to say that they did come through for me and my grandkids got to enjoy playing on their new dome on Christmas day. I feel bad for all the people out there who have had a negative experience ordering from the domeclimber people and now feel lucky to have received mine in a timely fashion especially because I ordered it so close to Christmas. I hope everyone gets their dome because they really are made well and at a very reasonable price plus the kids just love playing on it.

I too ordered this product for Chrismas. It was charged to my CC on 12/15/08. I actually called them prior to ordering and he actually answered the phone. He assured me I would receive the product by Christmas. I have not received any emails, etc... The voicemail is full and he will not respond to emails. After finding this site and the BBB, I have filed a dispute with my CC but it will take two months to possibly get refunded. I sure hope this guys is taken out of business. The longer his site stays up, the more people that will get swindled. This was the "big" gift for my son for Christmas, I now have to find something after the fact. I have learned my lesson about online ordering from companies I am not familiar with.

rodthefraud, I'm sorry that the experience that you and others relate have made you so cynical that you cannot accept the fact that just maybe there is a satisfied customer out there. Really, I can't blame you. If someone is looking at my post among all the others, it's not going to make one bit of difference as to whether they buy or not. Had I seen this thread before I ordered, I wouldn't have done so. I literally got a cold sweat when I read it. But I did get it and I'm happy with the product. So good luck to you and the others who are still waiting for the product or for resolution.

Nice try, Rod Ward (golfer1944). We all know it's you. Shouldn't you be out building domes for people that purchased them instead of in here trying to persuade people that you're a legitimate customer? Do not buy anything from this guy and ignore the postings he makes under golfer1944. He's a professional thief and deserves jail time!

We put together the dome on Christmas Eve. Took 2 of us about 2 hours to put it together. Good clear instructions, and plenty of extra bolts and nuts. Our grandchildren love it.

The same thing happened to me! I've just contacted the hosting company for domeclimber.com and told them that this site was being used for fraud. I've asked them to take it down. Here's their contact info, please send them an email asking them to take it down ASAP so no more people get their money stolen. golfer1944, look at the domeclimber's rating with the Better Business Bureau. They have an 'F' rating. This means that they are not a good business to buy from. Rodney used to work for geoclimber at www.ziatoysinc.com (thread below this one). I don't think it takes a 'brain' to see what is happening - Rodney stold the design of the company he left. They are the same domes at both companies, but Rodney used to work for this company before branching off on his own. Read the threads of geoclimber here (one of them below). There are a few. They are not associated with Rodney's domeclimber, they sell the same product but they are the originating producer, and they have a rating of AA with the Better Business Bureau and have received no consumer complaints. Rodney has an F. http://www.newmexicoandsouthwestcolorado.bbb.org/BusinessReport.aspx?CompanyID=99127205 If it's this dome you want, buying from the originating company will get you a dome and not stress. Golfer1944. there are people in this thread that have still not received a refund or a dome since ordering earlier in the year. Your good things to say about this company stand alone, as there is just nothing else to recommend this company. Do a search on this webpage for the username "geoclimber" who is the president of Zia Toys. You will find all the information needed in order to see their dome online (which is the originating source of Rodney's stolen design), and you'll find the contact information to get ahold of them - phone numbers, email addresses, web site, ect. Golfer1944, no, no one was mad when the dome didn't arrive in a couple weeks. What 99.99 percent of people are experiencing is no dome in months and months. I beieve that some of the people who began on this thread dropped off because of the stress of all this. They had still received no dome or refund when last heard from. An "F" with the Better Business Bureau, and as "rod_ripped_me_off" said, "Rodney Ward and his mother are on the Fraud watch list with FedEx and UPS no wonder the domes are having problems shipping because he does not pay the carriers! " These facts speak for themselves.

Follow-up to my very recent comment -- Repeat - we are not affiliated with Dome Climbers or Rodney Ward in any way. He is a former emoyee of Zia Toys Inc. We designed and are making climbers in two diameters. The 8-ft diameter is 4 ft high and sells for $295, the 12-ft diameter is 6 ft high and sells for $395. We have a patent on the hubs and sell them as a kit for do-it-yourselfers separately for $175 and $225 respectively. The only thing you will need to complete a climber is 1-inch PVC electrical conduit that is available at any Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Since the hub kits are much lighter, the cost of shipping them to you is considerably less than the cost of shipping a whole climber. We have a "AA" rating with the Soutwest Better Business Bureau (www.bbbsw.org) and stand behind our product. We pride on shipping within 48 hours of receipt of funds. Sorry, so many have had a problem with Rodney -- I am not surprised. Wendell L. Jones, President, Zia Toys Inc. Albuquerque NM 505-344-0744, 505-344-0752 (Fax) www.ziatoysinc.com. PS: We never call our climbers "domes" because that refers to an enclosed object.

BUYER BEWARE!! We are opeining a business and had ordered this in early November, and after multiple emails requesting a tracking number we have yet to receive any reply! If only we had found this thread it would have saved us both the heart & head ache having to deal with this disgusting scum during the holidays and these tough economic times. We have filed a complaint with the BBB in his area and are looking into what can be done to recover our $400....any advise would be appreciated.

I wish I seen this thread before buying! I ordered in May 08 for a birthday gift. At first I didn't think it was a big deal until I was getting email saying there was problems, a different excuse every couple weeks The delivery driver was suspended or production problems. It seems as if the customers are not the only ones being scammed, Rodney Ward and his mother are on the Fraud watch list with FedEx and UPS no wonder the domes are having problems shipping because he does not pay the carriers! . I thought I was being scammed and nothing I could do until, I filled a complaint with the New Mexico General Attorney's office, after calling for weeks, I just got a check from Mr.Ward 2 days ago for the full refund amount! Good luck to all hope is doesn't ruin any kids Christmas! Hopefully Santa will give not only coal but some jail time 2!!!

I came across this thread several months ago and thought you had resolved your issue with Rodney. Our family manufactures 8-foot and 12-foot diameter Kid Klimbers(TM) in Albuquerque NM. We ARE NOT affiliated with Dome Climber or Rodney Ward, except that "Rodney is a former employee of Zia Toys and we have an on-going dispute with him" (lawyer statement). We make every effort to ship within 48 hours of receipt of funds and we STAND BEHIND our products. We are proud to have been awarded a patent on the hubs that hold the climbers together. Our stock is depleted right now due to the Chrismas rush, but we will make every effort to get a climber to you ASAP. Check us out at www.ziatoysinc.com and check out our company at the Southwest Better Business Bureau (www.bbbsw.org). Call me, Wendell Jones, at 505-823-9452 (1-888-400-4942) if you have any questions.

Oh no! I was charged December 1 and have emailed and called (won't take messages) to find out if it's been shipped. I can't get an answer and now just found this thread. This is THE gift for my kids on Christmas morning and now I'm panicked that it's not coming. Did anyone else actually GET the climber without receiving a tracking number or any communication???

damien, I accept your apology. I guess I would be sceptical too if I had the experience that you describe. I called Rod maybe 3 times and was able to speak to him each time when I checked on the progress of my order. The last time I got the tracking # and the package was picked up by UPS that afternoon. And when I saw a couple of people on this thread - one who said that the list of his customers weren't real people (those that I called were real) and another who was mad when her package wasn't there within 2 weeks (perhaps an unreasonable expectation) I thought I should at least relate my experience.

Sounds like Rod made himself another Kaboodle account with a brand new screen name! Golfer, if you're a legit customer, allow me to apologize up front--but I'm skeptical. The fact of the matter is that ignoring even ONE customer (rufusing to refund, deliver, return phone calls or return emails) is a completely inexcusable act for a business. Not to mention that statistically speaking, the number of different people complaing in this forum is probably about a third of those who have actually be Rod's victims. Most people won't take the time to post on a website like this--I know I hesitated for a long time, because I hate giving my email to company after company just because I want to comment on their review threads. Other people haven't even seen this website because they made their purchase on domeclimber.com. Other still probably can't be bothered with taking the time to write complaints in a forum that will probably never help their issues to be resolved (after all, complaining here isn't like talking to a lawyer!). So, take the people here and multiply them a few times--that's a better estimate of the number of instances in which people have been charged, swindled, and ignored. Furthermore, if ANY company has trouble meeting the demand, then they should NOT accept payment while they're already backlogged. OR they should switch from credit card payments to CODs.

Hi covey1955. I found that this business makes about 50 units /day or about 1000/month. For a small business, that's a lot of customers since most folks only need one. So your statement that a few get their product but most don't might not be accurate. Yes, there's a lot of complaints, and I was really concerned when I found your and others comments. But my concerns were eliminated when I got the Domeclimber. And there's a lot of satisfied customers.

It was easy to get their numbers. Just go to whitepages.com. Plus I have unlimited long distance so didn't cost me anything.

What did you do? Go through Information, use their name and town/state, and ask Information for their personal phone number? I would have had a really hard time calling their home on a topic such as this, and it must have run up a phone bill too. I got a large one through Costco, it's metal and doesn't break, was no more expensive and was still very big, and I didn't have to go through a company with a rating of "F" with the Better Business Bureau. People were happy with their service in the past with this company, but the current situation is that this company only comes through with sending the dome in a 'hit and miss' situation. Once in a while someone gets a dome, but most of the time people don't. This company is just too unreliabe to deal with, because it's like playing Russian Roulet with all chambers full except for one chamber. A person just has to hold their breath, grit their teeth, and hope they win out with the one empty chamber, but fat chance. The chances of "losing out " are statistically VERY high.

I ordered the Dome Climber on November 17th and got it today, December 15th. We are really pleased with it. Our Grandchildren will love it when they wake up Christmas morning. We checked many places and could not find anything comparable for the size and cost. I called several people at random from the long list of customers and everyone was pleased with the product. One lady had also ordered and received a second one. We will be ordering another one for our second set of grandchildren as soon as they get old enough to use it.

I'm new to Kaboodle so I'll post a short statement so I know it goes OK before I hunt and peck a long post. Really pleased with the Domeclimber. Ordered it about a month ago. Got it today

I HAVE ANOTHER GOOD IDEA! I've filed with the BBB and the FTC and called my bank. Everyone should do all of these things! But, I have another good idea: You'll notice at the bottom of the "feedback" page of domeclimber.com there's an image of a newspaper article written about Rod and his dumbclimbers from the Quay County Sun. I called their office! The man I spoke with didn't seem very interested in our dilemma, but I gave him an overview of the situation. I told him that they had printed an article endorsing Rod and that now there's over 70 complaints with the BBB about this fraud and only 2 have been resolved. It would be WONDERFUL if their paper took an interest in printing a new article exposing this scam artist and raising awareness. The guy who wrote the article no longer works with them, and I kinda got the vibe that there's some bad blood there--so maybe they'll be happy to slam their old employee and Rod at the same time! You should all call them or email them and make the same request! They're at: Quay County Sun 902 S. First Street Tucumcari, NM (575) 461-1952

I've sent the information to Tom Martino, who has a national radio show of about 6 million listeners and loves to confront rip off artists. We'll see what happens there. I've contacted his host for his web site, as I believe committing fraud is a violation of the Terms of Service agreement that you have to sign to have a website. It is Bluehost.com and the number is 888 401-4678. At the very least, let's get the web site taken down to prevent further fraud.

Yeah, and only two of them are resolved. I filed with the BBB, called the bank that issed the checkcard I used to buy it to get them to look into it, and I have a lawyer looking into the case. On November 11th, they finally emailed me a reply--basically calling me a big meanie-head and that they were gonna refund my money anyway... well, they posted a bunch of text to the bottom of the message that looked like a receipt for a refund, but I've been checking my account every day since then, and I still don't have the money. You're supposed to allow a couple of weeks for that stuff to go through, but I imagine I wont get anywhere without actually filing a lawsuit. I think thats what these guys count on--for just a few hundred bucks, it's not worth the cost of pursuing it in court--well they didn't count on a guy like me...

domeclimber now has a rating of 'F' with the Better Business Bureau. Something like 78 complaints filed so far. http://www.newmexicoandsouthwestcolorado.bbb.org/BusinessReport.aspx?CompanyID=99127205

So all I have to do is post enough angry messages here and I'll get my money back? Let me tell you my story: I ordered the domeclimber for a school play I was prododucing--October 21st. After a few weeks, when I became nervous that the package wouldn't get here in time for my kids to practice with it, I sent them an email asking when it might arrive. I made it clear that the anticipated delivery date would determine whether or not I would have to cancel my order and find a dome somewhere else. Nobody replied directly to me, but I received an automated message from UPS that said it should arrive on November 10th--okay--that was at least 4 days before opening night. On the 11th, I called UPS to find out when my package was coming, and they said that they didn't even have it--the company had sent enough information to print the shipping labels and generate a tracking number, (8 days prior) but still hadn't arranged for pickup--SOUNDS LIKE A BAIT-AND-SWITCH TO ME!!! On the 12th, after multiple unreturned calls and emails, I sent "rod" another email, demanding that the package arrive the very next day or that they stop wasting my time and refund my money immediately. Again, without ever contacting me directly, I vicariously recieved a message through UPS that a "package intercept" had been requested and that I would recieve my dome on the 14th--well that was too late, so ordered a replacement from amazon.com (the eezy peasy brand) and had it overnighted for an extra 70-some bucks (I had no other choice). Now, the show's over--thankfully amazon proved reliable and the eezy peasy brand dome wasn't as weak and chinsy as I thought. However, I still don't have my refund, and now, according to UPS, my package is on its way to Louisiana and will arrive there on the 20th. Lucky them! Personally, I plan to do everything in my power to not only get my money back, but also to make them pay the 70+ dollars it cost me to have the other dome overnighted. I'll also help the effort by reporting Rodney Ward to the BBB. Good luck everyone!

LoL GReaT THread.. My Mom GOt My KIds This In SePt, they LOVE it!!!

nurseangel44, I am so very happy to hear this is over for you. Yes, the posting on uTube is a great idea! One thing you did, too, was give him your name in order to compensate you. It's still Rodney sending the domes, because a new company is not reponsible for his past bad business, so wouldn't send you a dome if it's not their responsibility to do so. It's still Rodney, and one less person to complain in public, the better, but he needs your name to send a dome. I don't believe there is a bankruptsy, and he certainly doesn't want to give your money back since he wants to keep it - this is undisputable - so he needs specific names. The email sent to you is a copy/paste of an email he sends to others, but fortunately he gave you your dome so now considers you one less person who will be posting on here. I gave my name in this blog a few months back, so did get my money back through paypal. I just didn't go away like I said I would. I'm still here. Stuck like glue...

Hello again, I am here to give you update on what I did. I wrote this email to Domeclimber & I will show you what he wrote me.and the outcome. Curtis & Crystal Miller wrote: > > Dear, Domeclimber.com, > > I still have not received my dome, I paid with PayPal on June 28th. I'm sorry we disappointed you. We can not access the files because of the bankruptcy. If you still want a dome we will mail you one if you would rather have that then ok. If you want your money back please file a chargeback though the credit card company you originally made your payment with. This was not done on purpose they had every meaning to ship out your order. They made a couple mistakes and were still taking orders while in a dispute with the supplier and thought they would produce and they tried but couldn't make it, thats where the bankruptcy came in and I do apologize. Like I mentioned in the beginning on this email iyou still want the dome send us your original receipt your dome will be shipped or please do a chargeback. So I sent him copies of my invoice and my Receipts and I am happy to say I recieved my dome a week ago and my kids are exstatic, it is well built and was worth the money but not the headache, I lost about a month of my life I will not get back worrying about this. Anyway, I wish you all the best of luck in getting your dome, be persistant, don't give up. It took my kids wanting to do a video and post on youtube to get his attention. Try it.

Okay.. you both need to chill out here. Some of us still don't have this problem fixed yet. We don't have a dome and don't have our money back. Some of us keep checking back to see if anybody else has had any luck with anything. Now...this is not the place for this "name calling" business to take place. Soo.. please... just stick to the business problem here.

Damn, you're whitty and original! What irritates me really bad is the lack of intelligence behind your offensiveness. You're just not good at it! No thought behind what you say at all. As for truth, your declaration of truth doesn't make it truth. People open their mouth all the time, like you do, and out comes the proof of how foolish they are.

Lol... think what you want. Sounds like your a little upset?? covey1955I never said I had a life! I live alone. What r you so mad about does the truth hurt??

Up your's johnreeda6991. You got your's, so why are you here? I got mine, but I sit at a computer all day doing programming, and so when I need a 'non thinking' type of break, I look at this shit. And by shit, I mean your comments. Mine worse? Your's are, asshole. If you got your money, you don't need status on any of this, so YOU must not have a life. I need occasionaly breaks, but what's your excuse? What I haven't done is become a trash mouth like you. Think you can intimidate me? Well you can't so shove off! You posted big loud mouthed stupid shit, and it looks like you must have memorized every thread in this column in order to do your bad mouthing here. You didn't provide anything useful, I did right below, and you haven't contributed at all. As for disputing charges, everyone does you freak. You would have known that if you'd really read these threads. Disputing does't mean people will get their money back.. Most people aren't getting their money, but I guess you just think everyone is too stupid to dispute, or to even think of it. ps: the more I've thought about your 'big protesting' and arguing of my postings, the more I'm inclined to think you're Ashley2102 or a domeclimber person. You say "Argue with another woman??" Your profile is a man. The web work mentioned, idiot, is because he's not supposed to own the domeclimber business anymore, but recently updating the website with his own material and changes. Dahhh... If you don't want to see my stupid comments, then just shove off. Your grammer continues to be bad. No punctuation marks where there should be them, but you're trying aren't you? You argue way to loudly, and protest way too much, Ashley, Rodney or whoever. I can see why you're upset because I got paid, but I'm STILL not going away. Domeclimber keeps telling people, according to postings here, to dispute, dispute, dispute, and get your money back. Same thing you're doing, plus there is no "valid" reason for your protesting my continued postings. I believe you're Ashley or Rodney. Probably Ashley. Shove it in regard to my posts, creep.

I do feel bad, for the good people on here. All though you did get ripped off why don't you dispute the charges. Just get your money back I did! I noticed this site 6-30. The list is getting longer and its a shame!! Covey you are the worst one here... Didn't you get your money??? Argue with another woman??? Say word for word 'I won't be back as I've a life, goodbye, and good luck to all of you who haven't gotten your dome or money yet. For anyone else who runs across this thread, "A BIG MISTAKE TO BUY FROM DOMECLIMBER!" Doesn't look like you have a life, posting all these links and other crap.WHO CARES IF HE DOES WEB WORK? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING?? and if you got your money back why wont you leave it alone?? I like to read up on this, and see the status of peoples updates not your stupid comments a 100 times!!!!!

There's actually a feedback form on the bottom of domeclimber's feedback page now, along with the newspaper article. Naturally they have to approve your feedback in order for it to show in the page. I just provided some, but you guessed it...it isn't showing up since I had nothing good to say. Absolutely everything on that site points to Rodney Ward still being the head of this outfit, and it's not under new ownership. A new owner doesn't upgrade their site with more information on Rodney Ward and his business. They advertise themselves and their product/service instead. http://www.domeclimber.com/feedback.php

LOL. That's what I was just thinking - how the bad grammer stinks so blatantly of the domeclimber emails. I've seen his writing online other places, and the grammer isn't bad other places, so perhaps there are at least two writers of the domeclimer texting. Why would a new business go ahead and send a dome that they are not reponsible for? Can't access files because of the previous owner's bankruptsy, but that's okay...we'll send you a dome anyway! There's no bankruptsy.

Was that email supposedly from the new owner? Funny how his lack of punctuation is just like Rodney's. Maybe he thinks the customers will be nicer to him if he pretends to be someone else. Anyways, I was asked to email my receipt too...and I did get my dome. Good luck to you.

I got a new email today from domeclimber, This is what it says. I hope they are back on track, we will see if so I wshould have my dome soon. Like I mentioned in the beginning on this email if you still want the dome send us your original receipt your dome will be shipped or please do a chargeback.

I got a new e-mail from Domeclimber today, here is what it says. I will wait & see if they have changed if so I should have my dome soon. I will let you know. I'm sorry we disappointed you. We can not access the files because of the bankruptcy. If you still want a dome we will mail you one if you would rather have that then ok. Covey, I thought the same thing when I first read it...that maybe he was just saying that so he could try to get a fresh start without refunding everyone...but won't the credit card companies attempt to get money from him? If he really isn't bankrupt then they'd be able to. This is crazy!

Rodney Ward still has his own email address on the domeclimber site, a new quality photo of kids around a domeclimber at the bottom of the homepage and on the feedback page he has a news clipping that I've seen on the web. These are new features. If you look in the internet archives for ziabox.com (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.ziabox.com) you will see that Rodney does his own web work and design. Although I don't see good examples of his work, apparently he's capable of doing it and has recently updated his site. Saying that he's declared bankruptsy will defeat many of you and he's hoping you will go away because of that. This leaves him free to keep money toward starting his new business. Someone who has declared bankruptsy doesn't leave a website up and running, continueing to take money without delivering the product, and then leaves the site up and running under his own name and email address when the business doesn't belong to him anymore. The site would display new ownership if anything, and a new email address for the contact person. This is just another lie, and another attempt to continue taking money that he doesn't give anything back for.

That's interesting that it's under new ownership. The last email I received from Rodney was Sept. 6. I received my climber and put it together on Wednesday the 10th. D

I received this message from Rod yesterday: "do a charge back though the credit card company you paid with tell them you purchased the dome, but it was never received the company has reformed under new owners and the previous owner has claimed bankruptcy. We can not access the files to refund your purchase" Since I paid cash, I cannot do that!!!

Please tell us the new contact information of the new owners. I orded my dome in June as well and am still waiting. I have asked for a refund several times and nothing. Please please pass along any information that you can! I would like my money or the dome..which ever is easier!

ok...I myself believe this is a scam...I am disputing this with my credit card company. I also googled some of the names and addresses on the testimonial list and guess what everyone....they're made up!

How can I contact the new owners. The Dome Climber site is still up...

good luck 2 everyone!!!

I have ordered 2 6x15ft domes from Rodney Ward @ Domeclimber.com. My last attempt to contact the company August 28 2008. I was told the company went bankrupt, and was reformed under new owners. Rodney went bankrupt and sold out. I was unable to recieve a refund though the company the new owner told me to do a charge back though my credit card company! My money was refund in three days! He also informed me that if I reordered the two domes I would receive them with no problems. Long story short my husband and I tried decided to reorder one more time though the new owners, considering there the cheapest on the market. I finally got my domes four days later after purshasing with the expedited shipping! Even if you don't want the product any more just due the charge back to save your self the headache,, I wish I did after the first month!!M. Smith

I ordered my climber in June. After waiting and waiting I did some research online and came across this site. Since I saw that there were some , in fact, receiving their climbers, I emailed Mr. Ward and gave him a deadline in which to get me a valid tracking number. Well, it worked! He did email me back asking for my receipt with dome size and address. I thought that was odd but I received the tracking number with a supposed ship date of Sept 2. For days, it just said "package data transmitted to FedEx." So I emailed again and asked him to ship the darn thing! As of today, it was actually picked up by FedEx. So I should be receiving it by Thursday. Has anyone else gotten their dome since Tim Spears on Aug 1? I will add that I checked with my credit card company to find out how long I had to get my money back...I didn't want him to string me along til it was too late. Discover card gives you 6 months. I hope to see more happy endings on here...either refunds or product in hand!

I just wanted to let everyone know who bought a dome climber from Rodney Ward, please if you paid with a credit card report your card as compromised. Rodney Ward has not only not sent me a dome climber I ordered he has also been making other purchases with my credit card. Thank god I have credit protection, but please everyone beware that he is doing this.

I ordered the dome climber on June 4th and never received the climber or my refund I recieved the same form letter as Crystal Miller did on July 18th and still no climber and no refund this does not respond to emails or phones when you do receive an email it is a lie I sent my money to him and he got in in 4 days. I asked for a refund and he told me it would take 30 days for my refund to show on my cc it only takes 7 to 10 business days. I will keep calling and emailing until recieve my refund I also filed a complaint on the BBB and rating was an A but know it is a D. I purchased a dome climber at Bj's for $50 cheaper but I still want my $199 from Rodney. If I get a refund I will let you know I think we should let everyone know don't purchase this product from this company.

OK today was the day I should have gotten my dome you guessed it, no dome, I have talked in length with my cousinn who is a federal marshall and he has talked to his office and they are going to see what they can do to track him down, I hate to say it, but if they catch him he is going to end up in prision. Oh well he should of gave my money back or sent my dome, I hate crooks, and it is obvious he is one, I have been nice way to long, I am letting the feds have it from here. He will get time in jail for each person he has taken advantage of plus, for running a scam online. He has just thrown his life out the window, It was a group of moms we put our money together to by this dome, and they each want justice and will fight with me to get it. I am not going to waste anymore time on a liar and a cheat. He will answer now to the higher ups and will never be able to have a regular job using his own name in this country because they will catch him. He has my address he could have sent me a money order back with the money he owes me, no excuses for not giving me refund or sending my dome, He is a SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. I am going to spread him over the internet , each of you should to.

I had to vent not that it will do any good. Letter to Rodney: I don't understand how you keep doing business. How can you live with yourself! You have not refunded our money as you said you would, you continue to take others money knowing you won't be able to fulfill their orders. It seems your intent to disappoint one kid after another. I see your comments on your website with the rave reviews. Why don't you post some of the other comments you've received like this one. Oh wait that might discourage a potential buyer. Do the right thing and refund our money.

Yeap.. I got the same thing. I have e-mailed Dome Climber everyday this week asking for my money back. Still nothing...I am not a happer camper!

I got this message from BBB today: "In the absence of any response from the company this complaint despite our two requests to them, we are closing our file on this complaint. This unanswered complaint will become part of the information we report to the public on this company for the next three years. Should any government agency request our files on this company, your complaint will also be included. If you have settled this complaint directly with the company, would you please email us to let us know that, as well as any other comments you might have. Your help in doing this is important to ensure that our report to the public on this company is accurate. Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau."

I ordered a 3x6 foot dome on June 19, 2008 for my grandson's baptism. I have not received it as of August 18, 2008. I have called the company twice this week and e-mailed to several e-mail addresses I have for this company. I am so sick of this. I feel I have thrown away $129. I have only had a problem once with something I bought over Internet. Is this company a fraud out to steal people's money? How can I either get my product or get my money back when no one at this company will respond to me?Lin LindertDavis, CA

Okay today was the day that I supposed to have my dome and you guessed it..nothing. Now I am really hot and just want my money back! I am soo tired of dealing with this guy and this mess!

Tells the same lie, with hardly any changes, all over the place. http://www.sunjournal.com/index.php?t=12&blogid=136233&bloggerid=6 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080710085840AALuGwL Going global he hopes to attract playground set http://www.qcsunonline.com/news/started_6146___article.html/zia_dome.html?orderby=TimeStampDescending&oncommentsPage=1&showRecommendedOnly=1

Just wanted to share this with you all. Domeclimber has really gone down hill with the Better Business Bureau lately. They now have a rating of 'D' and I don't doubt domeclimber will reach an 'F' before long. The complaints that had been processed through them, mine being one of the unanswered complaints although somehow I got my refund, show that the unanswered complaint count is going up very fast. The unanswered count was only a few not too long ago, but after enough time has gone by without an answer from domeclimber, the Better Business Bureau adds to the count of answered. Domeclimber would do much better if they would at least answer the Better Business Bureau, because it goes against them when they don't. There's a grading scale, much like you'd get in school, so you should all know what the 'D' stands for. I got the same e-mail with a different date. It should be arriving this week according to the e-mail. I'm still waiting!

We will notify you with our updates, and your shipping information as soon as possible! Please reply and that us know your decision on this matter. again we do apologize for the inconvenience!!!!! Thank you,Dome climber

I am still waiting too. The so called "e-mail" said I would get it by the 18th of August. If still nothing by then, I will be incontact with the BBB again about this mess! Gosh, by the time I get it, there might be snow on the ground!

nurseangel, I ordered mine on 6/5 and have not received a refund. I was told on 7/9 it would take 30 days and still nothing. I will file a complaint tomorrow0

I am going to give him 10 weeks after reading one of the other notes left, But he could at least drop me a line , that is all I ask. Just a little communication, That is a couple more weeks. I will keep you posted. I hope I am wrong, I hope I do have to apologige, If I do I will spread to everybody how good a product it is..But I am still waiting. It has been 6 1/2 weeks

Still waiting on my dome or my money, I talked to my cousin who is a Federal Marshall & he said if I had not received after 8 weeks and with no response to calls or emails , He will talk to some people who are higher up about what can be done, and put me on the track to get justice, He said maybe a warrant might issued for his arrest. He said I had to wait 8 weeks before filing criminal charges for fraud. He (Rodney Ward) has refused to talk to me, He took my money and then dissappeared, Will not take calls, will not answer emails. Sounds like he is up to no good. If his paypal was canceled & he could not return my money that way he could mail it to me at my address in Big Rock, TN. I will not let go, until something happens, my dome, my money or him in jail. Curtis & Crystal Miller

Haven't received my money but still in a good mood. Say what you will I think it's funny. Me and my butt cheeks are laughing. I am happy you received your money. Good luck to you!

I guess the few of you who are in such a good mood have been compensated already. I have been, so angry? No. If you haven't been compensated then this loss won't throw you off any. It's just a hiccup. I won't be back as I've a life, goodbye, and good luck to all of you who haven't gotten your dome or money yet. For anyone else who runs across this thread, "A BIG MISTAKE TO BUY FROM DOMECLIMBER!" msmaryw, you are very funny. A little 'hiccup' huh? Brother... I can't help but picture you as one of those bossy old women leaning over the garden fense gossipying for hours with the neighbor, apron on over the knee length dress, covering big old fat butt cheeks. Sorry, but that picture just comes to mind from the things you say...

I feel covey's wrath already. Ha ha! Yeah Netkna and Mr. Spears! It's just nice to share information. Covey maybe you need another outlet for your angry. Sex or exercise is always good. I am not saying we shouldn't get our product or a refund however life's to short to let a little hiccup cause so much anger. Have a great day everybody!

covey, you seem like you're looking for something to get mad about to me. I don't think timspears was saying anyone here was using bad management; he just thinks that Rodney's product is good and hopes that Rodney's bad management doesn't ruin that. You've jumped on several people about their posts. I don't know why you are the one to decide whether posts add anything to the thread or not. People should be able to post here without having you judge them. Lighten up!

I thought people might be interested to know that in addition to the domeclimber.com web site, the same company is operating other web sites, including jungle-gym.net and kids-climber.com, which have the same layout as the domeclimber site and are still taking orders. I recently ordered a climber (before I read all these postings -- if I had read them first, I wouldn't have ordered) and now am not optimistic about what to expect.

Hello Tim, I am very happy for you and glad your children are enjoying their dome. I bought a dome from Costco so I no longer need the one I ordered. According to Rodney's email I should receive a credit in thirty days from my request of 07/09/08. I am eagerly waiting to see if I receive it. At this point I'd be happy to receive the dome I ordered or a full refund just to be done with it.

Hi All, following my previous post, I received the dome (the largest of them). I assembled it with my children - an activity very exciting for them and rewarding in itself. They absolutely love it and have climbed on it every day (weather permitting) since we received it about 2 weeks ago.I won't reiterate all the discussions we've already had on this thread, other than to comment that there's little benefit to be gained by being abusive. There's enough content here that anybody doing some research before purchasing a product will get the picture, and there's nothing to be gained for anybody by dragging it out further and being insulting. It was clear to me looking at all the bits we received in the packaging that there's an immense amount of manual effort that goes into each of these domes. The hundreds of tubes are manually drilled and the hubs are individually molded and drilled. The tubes and hubs are painted at the ends to color code for easy assembly. All the bits are accurate and fit together nicely with loads of spare nuts and bolts. I don't think that Rodney is out by the pool drinking Martguerita's while you're all waiting for your domes. I mention this not to suggest his way of managing everything is acceptable, but rather to make the point that more pressure won't make him meet his commitments more quickly.I hope that at least some of you have the patience to actually get your domes - I think it's an excellent product and it seems sad for it to fail because of bad management.

I thought everyone on this thread might like to know that Mr. Ward is still taking orders on his site, and still paying Google Pay Per Click for sponsored links - search for Dome Climber - and what comes up at the top of the page? His site. He pays for that. Maybe we should all file complaints with Google. They should not take paid advertising from a non-functioning business like this one.I too have filed a BBB complaint. And waited in vain for 4 weeks for what was supposed to be the main attraction at my son's 4th birthday party. I did end up getting my money refunded and ordering another smaller version from Amazon. I'm still seething with frustration and animosity. Hope everyone gets at least their money back.Aloha!

wsm, Rodney sends this to almost everyone, a version of it anyway, and then becomes unresponsive after that. How did you pay for the dome? Check, paypal, credit card?

I did file with the BBB and sent a copy of the file to Rodney. Maybe that's why I received the message...

I received this message from Rodney: I would like to address the concerns of the late orders.I want to inform all the customers of our situation at this time. We currently are in a transition of changing over to mass production, and the company is under renovation. The product we currently produce is on backorder and is not available at this time. The time frame we are currently looking at is now 30 days. We do apologize to all our customers who are anxiously waiting! We want to reassure you all the orders we have will be shipped as soon as possible if not before August 18th 2008. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Our main priority is the satisfaction of our customers and the quality of our domes. We 100% stand behind our life time warranty! At this time we are giving an option to either cancel your order the refund it will be processed as soon as possible, we process the refund immediately after they are requested. It may take up to 30 days for your credit card company to credit it back to your account. Please let us know if you paid by check! Or if you would like to wait the dome will be shipped to you and on the day of arrival you will receive a discount of $20 dollars or more depending on the size dome you purchased. We do not want anyone to feel they are left in the dark, or being ignored! and it will be easier to contact us though email then phone! We are a loyal corporation that is maintaining our stability. We will notify you with our updates, and your shipping information as soon as possible! Please reply and that us know your decision on this matter. again we do apologize for the inconvenience!!!!! Does that mean I have a chance?...

Karsmom, I ended up buying a dome at Costco for $50 9 1/2 x 4 1/2. I looked on-line however they were not listed anymore. You may try going in if there is a Costco in your area. Good luck!

Our climber did come and is almost put together. My husband and I worked together and it went pretty smoothly. We were one of the lucky ones and am glad my son can enjoy it. For the others, be persistent and good luck. I still don't approve of the manner in which Rodney does his business and did file complaints like all of you.

I ordered a dome for my daughter's 5th birthday on June 2. I talked directly to Rodney as my order didn't go through online. He said that it would be shipped within 2 weeks. I waited until the end of June to start calling & never received any response. I tried to contact him 1 more time in the middle of July & still no response. I called my Visa - told them of the problem & within 3 days my I received a credit on my card. I guess I am really one of the lucky ones. My daughter is very disappointed & I am in search of another. Hopefully I will have better luck. Good luck all!

I thought the point of this was to share important information not trade pety comments. To those of you who have provided valid information on receiving your product, receiving a refund, emails from Rodney or other resources, thank you. Unfortantly, I am still waiting for mine and will have to file a complaint.

I'm not looking for any attention for this, but I was the person who contacted Mr. Jones and shared all of this information with him, including sending him this thread. For those of you who have questioned my ideas and methods, all I have to say is that you have to break some eggs to make an omelette. I know that I will probably get some insulting or critical posts in response to this, but I believe that it was worth it. Now all of you know just what kind of person Rodney Ward is. His shadey business dealings go way back beyond the last few months and include not just customers but his previous employer, from whom he appears to have stolen an idea or product. I wouldn't trust this guy as far as I can spit. It sounds as if Mr. Jones company is definately a better choice. You're welcome to anyone out there who may not have a problem with me contacting him about all of this. And to anyone who does, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. As Voltaire said, I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will fight to the death your right to say it. A little careful wording goes a long way in getting a point across instead of just having someone BEING cross. I have no desire to engage in an intellectual street fight with anyone here. I just want everyone to get what they deserve -- especially Mr. Ward! Thank you all for your courtious thought before responding to this post.

I finally got my reimbursement on the domeclimber in PayPal. I sent PayPal a handful of emails over the last few days, with the transaction ID, the case number, the amount, the date, my email address... I sent 2-3 of those yesterday and I got an email in this morning saying my refund was there. I immediately downloaded to my bankaccount, which will take 3-4 business days to complete. Thank you Mr. Jones for contributing the information in regard to Rodney Ward, and the information on your company. Hopefully enough people find this thread and have the opportunity to buy from you instead of domeclimber, since I have no doubt your company will be more dependable in delivering the product. I too have purchased A LOT online, but always use a credit card, pay directly from my bank account online using a secure server, or go through PayPal. I don't recommend EVER giving anyone your debit card number. If you can't use a credit card, make your payment through paypal. From businesses such as utility companies, or for credit card payments and paying other 'standard' bills, paying directly from your bank account using your routing and account numbers is okay as long as it's through a secure server, but you should NEVER give anyone your debit card number. They can basically clean your bank account out that way. wsm, you should immediately contact your bank and cancel your debit card. Get a new one.

Wow! This has really gotten interesting. I did receive my dome, and our 7-year old loves it. I am really curious to know whether Rodney stole Zia's design? Guess you can't talk about it Mr. Jones?

My name is Wendell Jones and I am the principal owner of Zia Toys Inc., the Albuquerque NM company referred to in this thread. Rodney Ward worked for our firm, but left our employ about 19 months ago. We have an ongoing dispute with him, and are not affiliated with any business enterprise he may have engaged in after he left Zia Toys. We manufacture geodesic-shaped all-PVC climbers and sell them through www.ziatoysinc.com. We have a Patent Pending on the unique hubs that hold the struts together. We offer 2 sizes and pride ourselves on quick delivery. We accept credit cards, but do not run them until the item(s) is ready to be shipped. We look forward to having you as a customer. All products sold by Zia Toys are backed by the full financial and technical resources of the company. Zia is one of a family of three companies owned and operated by Kathe and Wendell Jones of Albuquerque. By the way, if you need something to put under playground equipment to protect children from falls, visit www.permalife.com. We are proud to be the exclusive dealer for PermaLife in New Mexico operating under our sister company, New Mexico Rubber Mulch, LLC. Find us at www.nmrubbermulch.com.

I also received that same e-mail. Funny how we are all getting it now. I think that I might have also gotten a phone call from them, but they did not leave a message. The number is within the same are code. I just want to know if I am ever going to get my dome or my money!!! Anybody else have any luck?

melsy33, yes, that is the message that I received too. My refund was initiated by ziabox on July 15, and paypal says it's supposed to take up to 7 days to show in my account, but it's past that and it's still not showing. I've emailed paypal, and someone wrote back after a couple days, and they requested more information such as the case number, transaction id, amount of the transaction, etc. I sent that in, so must wait again. The continual promises domeclimber keeps giving, sending out these little 'crumbs' of hope every once in a while, when most of the time just ignoring everyone all together - well these occassional rays of hope is just flat cruel. There's no other word for it. I get told by paypal, Ashley in this thread knew first actually, that I'd been given a refund. It would take up to 7 days to show. That got my hopes really up that I was actually being compensated, but it's past the 7 days. The hoping and waiting feels like just plain cruelty.

THe UPS tracking number for my shipment says it is our for delivery today. I am a little nervous that only part of it will be here or it will be missing parts or something. Then what will I do?? As long as I get it and my son enjoys it, that's all that matters. I am one of the fortunate few, I know. I will update everyone after we get it and put it together. Today is POURING so it will have to wait until the weekend!

Melsy33, I received something close to that on 07/22. I would like to address the concerns of the late orders. We currently are in a transition of changing over to mass production, and the company is under renovation. The product we currently produce is on backorder and is not available at this time. We do apologize to all our customers who are anxiously waiting! We do apologize for the inconvenience. Your order has been cancelled. The refund it will be processed as soon as possible, we process the refund immediately after they are requested. It may take up to 30 days for your credit card company to credit it back to your account. Thank you, Dome climber

I have been following this conversation carefully. I also had not received my order or any communication with Rodney. I had been trying to email rod@domeclimber.com without any response. Finally, I tried the email for his PayPal account, and I got this response back from him:I would like to address the concerns of the late orders.I want to inform all the customers of oursituation at this time. Please email us atrod@domeclimber.com This was the cause of the late response!! This address is not for the domeclimbers.Thank you, rodneyDome climberHas anyone else gotten this?

I just filed my complaint at BBBSW. When I ordered my dome I received a call from domeclimber.com saying that my credit card did not accept the purchase and I ended up giving my debit card number. Of course the money went out of my account on that very instant. Any chance I can see it back? I am very frustrated about this process since it never happened before (and I buy online A LOT!!!).

Okay people....enough "yelling" at others. We are all in the same boat and have had it up to our ears and beyond with this guy. We all want our dome or our money...either way would be great. However, getting into it with others is not going to help any at all. Has anybody received their dome or money?

According to Webster, a vendetta is "a blood feud". Sounds a bit more serious than a mere quarrel or dispute. I assert -- I have no vendetta against him, which according to Webster's definition would constitute exacting revenge. So if you have a vendetta, have at it. I just want my money back.

THE GUY IS A TOTAL CROOK. Took my money, never sent the item, never responded to a single call or email. I had to call Visa to get me my money back. I suggest everyone does the same and also alerts the Attorney General.

And the area code listed on your google phone book search for Helen Ward is incorrect -- it is 505 not 575.

BTW, he was the one who listed this address as his business address. It is not my concern if it is his mother's house, his house or the man's in the moon! It is related because he put it out there as being his business address. If it is an actual. physical address, perhaps he should have thought better than to put it up on a public web site if he did not want people to know where he and his mother live. Having taken it down, he should have put up at least a PO Box address where people could reach him through snail mail -- not that he would respond to that any better than he does his e-mails or phone messages.

Try going onto google earth. I know that the Wards have listed themselves as living at 1901 S. 2nd, but google earth and zillow.com can not locate that actual physical address. Someone else, earlier in this thread, even stated that she contacted people or businesses in the area and they apparently stated that they had never heard of Rodney or his business. People can list bogus addresses in the phone book -- all you have to do is fill out the wrong information for you listing. It's pretty simple. So just because a listing says someone lives at an address, does not mean that address exists. Try zillow.com. Do your own house first and then try Rodney's. You will see that there is no listing for it, only the surrounding area. When you go onto google earth, your house will be in the target -- when you do Rodney's address, it's in the middle of the street next to a house that is not his. I for one do not have a vendetta against Rodney -- and I think that it is insulting to everyone on this thread to suggest that anyone posting here does. Everyone is frustrated and confused and simply wants answers -- not revenge. Speak for yourself, not the rest of us. If you have a vendetta, that's your business. I don't think that I have heard anyone else indicate that they are looking for anything other than a dome or a refund.

1901 S 2nd Street does not exist -- I checked. I did not call his mother -- someone else did. I have no intention of calling his mother -- only a number associated with him. If his mother happens to answer that is not my problem. All of the information that I got is public record -- it is nothing that anyone has to pay to get or is private. If you are listed in a phone book or on the internet, it is not private it is public. I have no plans on harrassing anyone and would not encourage that. I do encourage people to get in contact with this person any legal way that they can. I am just providing legally obtained information that may help tham do just that.

Okay, I did a little internet research and here's what I found. Rodney lives with his mother, Helen. There are two numbers listed. (505) 242-3149 and (505) 461-2902. Rodney is also listed as being connected to Zia Toys in Albuquerque. Their web site is www.ziatoysinc.com. He is not listed on their web site, but their Kid Klimber is definately his dome climber. I don't know if he is still connected to them , but they may be able to help us locate him. If they think that he may be giving them a bad name by selling a cheaper version of their product -- which he may have even stolen -- then they may be very interested in helping us! There was also a lawsuit filed against him in 1999 by the New Mexico Education Assistance FDNT (not sure what that is). There was a settlement in their favor for nearly $20,000. A squeaky clean past he does not have. Let's see if there is anything that we can do with this information.

Hey Karen, what is Rodney's mother's number? Maybe if we all start inundating her with calls, he'll get an earfull from mom and get his act together! I'm for ANYTHING that might light a fire under this guy -- 'cause nothing else seems to be working. I'm sorry, but certainly not surprised, to hear that you received the wrong climber, no refund and a shoddy product. This guy's behaviors are just reprehensible!!!

After reading these posts,I'm adding my experience with Rodney.I wanted to buy a climber for my two grandchildren.Their father passed away on Mother's Day, and I wanted to bring a little joy into their lives. On 6/8, I sent an email with some questions about the climbers--got no response.Called them on 6/11 and talked with Megan (a new employee) and got my questions answered.I ordered a 4X9 climber online that same day.Got an email on 6/13 stating my VISA had been charged $239 and the dome would be shipped via UPS ground within 2 weeks.I had requested free shipping via USPS (not the $30 UPS ground).I called and talked with Meghan again 6/16 and she said the dome would probably be shipped the next day in two packages and I would get an email with tracking number.Never got that email. On 6/24 I sent an email asking for status--no reply.I called for several days and left messages.Heard from no one.I located the phone number for Rodney's mother and I called and talked with her about the situation. She assurred me Rodney was still "in business" and I would hear something by the next afternoon.I got an email from him on 7/1 stating the climber would be shipped within a week and he gave me an incomplete tracking number.Sent him another email on 7/10--no reply. On 7/15 a single package arrived with a 4x8 dome climber. I ordered and paid for a 4x9 dome! The packing slip showed a 4x8 and no mention was made of a substitution or restitution being made for the $80 price difference.I decided to keep what I got (since others have not been getting anything).Shot another email off to Rodney informing him of the error and requesting a credit to my VISA--no reply, of course. There were problems with the climber that was shipped. Most of the connector hubs had paint chipping off--in fact, the paint smelled fresh. The bottom connectors were left white. Also, the bolts were not long enough(approximately 1/4 inch too short)for 66 of the 130 connections.I purchased the longer bolts at an additional cost of $13.31.The good news--the climber is assembled and yesterday six happy children had a blast on it.I hope it holds up and I don't need any replacement parts.Would I ever order from this company again? Fool me once, Rodney, shame on you; fool my twice, I'm nuts! Karen Witmer

The stories are all the same. We ordered ours on 06/05 and still have not received it. We were also told we would receive a $30 credit and nothing. We asked for a refund on 07/09 and still nothing. I will also file a complaint!

I just happened to be reading this I see that everyone has had a problem with Rodney. I bought a dome climber from him through ebay. It came all scratched up and he said he refund some money...never happen. Than the middle bent and broke and I tried to call him so I could buy replacement parts and he never called me back! ALthough we have our domw it did also take him a long time to senmd it...we bought it in the winter of 2006

Hi JK, I am so sorry to hear that you have been going through what we all have. I am even sorrier to hear that your little girl did not get her dome climber. I finally bought one from Leaps and Bounds catalog. It came in 7 days and cost $370 including shipping. It is metal, not PVC, but it is VERY strong and VERY sturdy. My 6 year daughter and I put it together in about 3.5 hours, despite what the directions said about it taking 4 to 5 hours. I think that Hammacher Schlemmer sells one made from PVC for $370 as well. The Leaps and Bounds site is www.leapsandbounds.com. They are a reputable site and you will have no problem with them and you will definately get your climber as promised! I also know that some people on here have purchased a climber from Costco and they all seem happy as well. Good luck -- tell your little girl that when she gets her climber, she can celebrate her birthday all over again!!

I wish my wife and I had found this site before we laid out $309 a month ago and paid for 4 day expedited shipping so it was on time for our 6 year olds birthday....needless to say our story sounds just like everyone else's....4 weeks later after numerous unanswered phone calls and emails no dome climber and a very, very disappointed little girl. We contacted american express, paypal and the state police computer crimes unit...tomorrow I'm going to reach out to the BBB, FTC and the AG's office. I wish I had a dollar for everytime I told my kids that "maybe it will be here tomorrow"....I'd probably have broke even by now. Good luck everyone JK

WSM, go to the BBB of the South West (www.bbbsw.org) and fill out a complaint form -- not that Rodney will respond, he still hasn't responded to them regarding the complaint that I filed -- go to The Federal Trade Commission site and do the same and contact the Albaquerque, NM Attorney General's office. If all of these agencies receive enough complaints, they will take action. You could also contact a private attorney to find out if there is anything that you could do in your given situation. Clearly, if he does not refund your money, you can sue him for that. He has broken some laws of commerce -- such as listing a bogus mailing address on his web sites -- and it would appear that he is in violation of laws requiring that businesses act in Good Faith; he advertises a product that he admittedly can not deliver in the time frames that he promises, yet continues to take both money and orders for this product -- including ones for 4 day delivery despite his not even being able to deliver in the 6 to 8 week regular delivery time period. He does not tell people on his web site about the backorder situation that he claims he is in, so people are under the impression that they will be receiving their dome as promised. That is deception and fraud -- also against the law. There are apparently a fortune few out there who have received their dome climbers, and there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. People who placed orders back in May have still not received their domes, yet some people who have posted here claim that they ordered after that and did receive their domes. Rodney has been made aware of this web site by his friend Ashley and STILL does not contact anyone with regard to their questions or concerns. All he would have to do at this point would be to post a message here to quell the frustration, and yet he continues to avoid contacting his customers at all costs. I hope that you get your dome or your money. I paid by credit card and although I have the charge in dispute and am not responsible for it at this time, that could change if my credit card company does not get the money back from Rodney. I could still be charged for something I did not receive. To date Rodney has not responded to my credit card companies requests, so that is still up in the air. Good luck -- let us know what happens!

I bought my dome on June 05, 2008 and until today have not received it or any information on when I should receive it. I am very frustrated with this purchase and it is the first time I have such a problem with online orders (and I order a lot!!!). I try to e-mail and phone many times with not replies. I wonder what legal actions can be taken in a case like that. WSM

timspears, Do you think you can post his email you say you found for the rest of us to email him.

I am ready to put my dome up, If it takes me 2 days that is fine with me, but I do not have it and am worried I may not get it. He ignores his customers and that is bad business, I am afraid we are all being taken for a ride. If he makes everything good I will post it here. I pray he is just swamped and we are all over reacting, if so he could at least send us an email, keeping us up to date on where our order is.

nurseangel,I think based on my experience, you will receive your climber, but it probably won't be for summer use. My son has played on his all day. Be prepared to spend several hours assembling the large one.

I am still waiting to hear about my dome or my money. I just want to Thank Rodeney for ruining my childrens summer, they have had their hearts set on it, and because I can not get my money back, I can not buy them anything else. That was money that was saved just for this purpose, we do not have extra money to spend on play things. You are the Grinch to my kids this summer. How someone can sleep knowing they have made kids sad I do not know. On my paypal dispute it said he had until the 19th of July to respond, so I will see if I get my refund or if he sends the dome, we bought the biggest one for $399.00 and that was hard to save for them to buy this. I hope he will be honest with me. crystal

My husband and I were relieved to see this website. We're also getting nowhere with a dome purchase we made from domeclimber in late May. No response to emails, phone messages, etc.... We decided to end this now by contacting our credit card company and requesting a reverse charge. So we've got our money back but will still file complaints with the state AGs office. I do believe that all credit card companies do this for purchases made and not received via mail(catalog) or Internet so anyone who paid with their credit card should be able to get their charges removed immediately. Just call your credit card people. I'm disappointed that my girls will not be getting the dome we had promised. If anyone finds another company (scrupulous) who sells a similar/equal product, I hope you'll post that here. Thanks to all. The information people provided here was very helpful to us.

Just an FYI...the dome that we received yesterday was ordered on May 20. My husband and I along with a friend put the largest climber together this morning in about 4 hours. It's not hard but there are many parts and you have to watch the directions for colors. It really is a great toy; it is huge and seems very strong. My 7-year old was wowed by it.

I bought a dome from this guy May 13th 2008. At the time I didn't read his feedback on ebay, I was just excited to find one that I could afford. I haven't heard from the guy or received the product. Hopefully, I will get my money back through paypal. I reported the complaint, but yet to hear but from them either.

Today I get this from Paypal;Dear TKerins, Ziabox (rodneywa@yahoo.com) has issued you a full or partial refund for your payment. This refund will remain pending until the funds have cleared from the sender's account. You will receive an email notification once the funds have become available in your PayPal account. See Refund Details below for more information.what concerns me is "full or partial" refund! No word yet on which it is. Needless to say I won't be happy with the later.

Our climber did arrive today - in three packages. It was after 6 p.m. so we didn't even start to put it together. I post again tomorrow about quality.

Covey, if you look at the feedback section of his domeclimber.com site, you will see that there are negative comments made about Rodney's lack of communication as well as negative comments with regard to very slow delivery times. These comments were made prior to April and prior to all of us commenting on here. What that says to me is that he was having these problems all along, he just chose to post only the positive or mostly positive comments from his e-bay site on his domeclimber.com site. Who knows just how many dissatisfied customers there really are out here. There is no way to leave feedback on his domeclimber.com site now, so all anyone will see are the positive comments. Even the negative comments include positive feedback because the customer did eventually receive the dome and was ultimately happy with the purchase, even though they were not happy with the lack of communication and slow delivery times. This problem existed long before April -- it just seems to have come to a head at that time, as you said probably due to his being kicked off of e-bay and paypal. On another note, after I e-mailed him about the illegal things that he is doing, ie; listing a bogus address, false advertising, deception etc., and I told him that I had contacted the BBB and the FTC and that I had contacted an attorney for legal advise with regard to my rights as a consumer, he blocked my ability to e-mail him any further. Again, I state, a person who was operating leaglly and honestly wouldn't behave in such a clandestine fashion. Ashley and those who have received their domes can defend him all they like -- all of his actions speak for themselves. At this point, I am not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. The bottom line is that he acting knowingly throughout -- continuing to take orders AND money all the while knowing that he would not be able to fill those orders within the time frames promised. Clear cut fraud and deception. An honest person who "just got in over his head" would not behave in such a fashion. As an business owner for nearly 20 years, I have come across my fair share of crooked people. I have also had the distinct pleasure of working with people who possess integrity and value honesty in their business dealings. Unfortunately, Rodney would fall into the former category. I hope that you get your money and that all of the folks who have posted that they have shipments on the way get their domes. Some of them indicated that they were to receive them today -- anyone actually get their dome? I truely hope that you did.

I would like to state that NOT all of his feedback on e-bay was positive. Although he no longer takes orders on e-bay anymore, you can still find his old site through his ziabox account. There you will see that there are 8 negative comments. Even the feedback that is posted on his website, which is clearly taken from his e-bay account, does include negative comments from people stating that he is poor at communicating with customers. The problem is that people gave him a positive rating because they received the product and liked it. They were not pleased with his lack of willingness to communicate. I, too, am glad for the fortunate few of you have been graced with a response from Rodney. I did not start posting here until after I had e-mailed and called him several times. I left very polite messages simply asking as to the whereabouts of my dome climber. It was only after I did not receive even one automated response to any of my inquiries that I became angry. This is not a matter of people sending one e-mail or leaving one mesasge, not getting an instant answer and then flipping out on this guy. We have all been more than patient in our wait for replies or product delivery. I paid an additional $30 to have the dome delivered in 4 days. I did indeed get an e-mail staing that it would be delivered in 4 days -- I still have that e-mail if anyone would like to read it. How is it possible for the man to knowingly and admittedly be behind in his orders -- for whatever reason -- yet deliberately take not only additional orders which he knows he can not fill, but take orders and additional monies for express delivery? I stated this is a previous e-mail -- if he knew that he could not make delivery in the regular delivery time frame, then how could he possibly deliver in 4 days? This is not just a matter of poor communication -- it is fraud and deception. He admits that he can not deliver the product as advertised, yet has continued to take orders and take money for those orders and take extra money to deliver the product quickly -- knowing all of the while that he can not do what he is promising. Please focus on the facts presented here. We are not just a bunch of disgruntled people with nothing better to do than to post on this site. We are frustrated customers who have knowingly been deceived. I agree with covey -- some sort of tag or notice or or something on his web site stating that he has been inundated with orders and can not fill them presently is all it would have taken. I have seen these types of messages on web sites for companies both big and small. Even just an automated e-mail offering people the choice to wait or get a refund would have been fine with me. He did none of those things. He chose to not respond to those of us who were taking him to task. If some of you have gotten your climbers, I am very happy for you. It still does not change the facts of what it is that this man chose to do in his business dealings. Let us not forget that he has still not responded to my inquiries with the BBB and FTC. If I were approached by either of those organizations, I would reply to them pronto! The last thing that I would do as a business owner would be to ignore them! The fact that his address was bogus should also be of concern to people. Try to find 1901 S. 2nd in Tucumcari, NM on google earth or zillow.com. You will see that it does not exist. Once I e-mailed him that I knew that his address was fake and that it is a crime to list a bogus address when dealing in commerce, he took it off of his web sites, domeclimber.com and diydomes.com. Does that sound like an upstanding thing to do? Please keep all of this in mind.

What I do is 'create' for the internet - software types of applications, and the easiest is work designing, creating, developing websites. A simple thing would be to put comments tags around his 'payment' features such as the paypal, money order/check, and credit card features for making payments, with a little posting about the inability to take more orders until the current orders have been processed. The comment tags make things invisible in the code, without actually taking those things out to where they must be put back in later. A comment tags begins with <!-- and end with --> (I had to use character entities here, instead of the actual "greater than" or "less than" signs as this wasn't showing in this page. Anything between those two tags is invisible to the reader. Requests to Rodney aren't possible, as you are one of the rare few, timspears, who has reached him. If Rodney isn't able to meet order demand, whether he 'comments out' the payment abilities of his site or not, he should not be taking the money without completing the transaction in a reasonable time. Why he is doing that, so that consumers are becoming angry with him, as very curious. It's just plain bad for business. He really does need to stop the payment ability on his site, with an explanation that that is temporary so that the backlog of orders can be met. Yes, timspears, I do believe that everyone was happy with the service and the product until a 2-3 months ago. All feedback on ebay was positive, and I believe the feedback on his domeclimber site is legitimate too. Something happened though suddenly, and orders weren't being met anymore. A show of good will, and to help prevent further disatisfied customers/consumers, I suggest putting comments tags around his payment features on his website, with a note about not excepting orders at this time. He mentioned in the email that I copied/pasted down below, that the company isn't excepting orders right now, but they are as the ability to pay is still there. Yes, he does need to communicate, and perhaps he could communicate right here in this thread, and request the real names of people that have waited so long, so that the orders or reimbursement can be taken care of. Timspears, you were a rarity who waited a reasonable time, and didn't have problems with your transaction. Your case is atypical to the common transaction, and it's good to know of a case that went right. I gave my name here, and according to paypal I'll get my money as it's been reimbursed, but is pending and will take up to 7 days to show in my account. Perhaps some of you should provide your real name too. It's not a security threat or anything. Your name and address are in your transaction with domeclimber anyway, so why not try to get compensated as soon as possible? It worked for me.

Perhaps a reasonable request to Rodney would be this: can you tell use how many domes are on back-order, and how quickly you're producing them. An occasional post to this thread could make you part of the solution and not part of the problem. Once again, stopping your web site from accepting orders may not be as straight-forward as it sounds. In response to covey1955, we heard about this by word-of-mouth from someone else who was very happy with their service and product, and so we went out and ordered one. Truth is, if lots of people have good things to say, it's not that unlikely that he gets a flood of orders that are suddenly not so easy to meet. Key thing here is communication, and I think Rodney would do well to be a bit more open with everyone and get some details out here.

It ticks me off how some people have managed to get some reply and suddenly they get a tracking number for shipment! Some of these people haven't been waiting nearly as long as I have. What gives???

I have asked for a refund and have not heard anything from anybody. I have called and left messages daily, e-mailed messages almost daily and still nothing from him. If it is coming great...let me know. If not...just give me my money back. I understand that things can happen, but a little communication would be nice. A simple e-mail, call or something would be all that I needed to know that I didn't get taken for a wild ride and that this really does exist.

Some people have not received their order, nor have been contacted, even though they ordered in May. I also wrote to the domeclimber email address, as well as his yahoo email address. That is one of the 'wierd' aspects of this business with domeclimbers - most everyone is disatisfied the last few months, and there's the rare few who seem to have perfect transactions and good things to say. That is not the typical though. He has never had problems in the past, but suddenly the last few months orders can not be met. So people are complaining. So, what circumstances are suddenly occurring to cause orders to not be met as they have always been met in the past? Suddenly an overload of people wanting domes? If someone's experience was good and they didn't have problems, then the effect of that good experiences is satisfaction with the transaction. There are circumstances that we don't know about that is causing the sudden inability to meet the number of orders coming in. We don't know those circumstances, but the money should not be taken if the ability to meet the order isn't possible - at least to meet the order in a reasonable time. Those are the facts again.

I checked the shipping status on my climber and it said it was in transit, which means UPS has a physical package on the way. If it is the idea of just being bogged down, I agree, let the customers know. No reply and many crooked business people out there make us assume the worst, even if it's not really the case. I will update everyone on the progress of our climber.

Hi All, I ordered an 8 ft dome climber a day short of a month ago. When I ordered it the web site said it would ship in 3 weeks. Just after the third week (about a week ago), having had no contact from domeclimber.com, I send an email to rod, using the email address on the web site. All I said in the email was please to provide an update on the status, but I didn't get a response. That was last Friday, and on Tuesday I started getting a bit worried, so I called the telephone number - left a message but didn't get a call back. That's when I decided I needed to do a bit of research and see if this place is for real, or if it's a hoax. I tried to get a physical address - I noted the telephone number is a (505), which is NM, and I live in Albuquerque. I thought perhaps I could go a knock on the door and find out, but it turns out it's in Tucumcari NM. Then I found this site and discussion - at which point I became rather more concerned. I did some more research, and found Rodney's full details and an alternative/private email address. I wrote an email to Rodney explaining my concern, referencing this thread.Rodney wrote back the same evening - a friendly email, and he is genuinely concerned about this brewing storm. The following day I got a shipping notice from UPS - which for two days just showed as billed but not yet sent. I decided to wait to see when it actually left before posting here. Well, as of yesterday it's been shipped and is on its way.As frustrating as this has been, the truth it it's only taken a week longer than the 3 weeks suggested on the web site. I do really think that Rodney is just inundated with orders, and reality is that if he's not maintaining his own web site, it's not that easy to keep updating the lead time, and not that easy to guess it. When you post a product on the internet for sale you cannot predict that you might get 50, 100 or 500 orders in a week, and if you're cutting pipes, molding connectors, packaging etc. there's a very hard limit to how quickly you can produce - even if you do work 18 hour days. So, while I have found this experience to be quite frustrating, in Rodney's defense, I do think he's really trying to meet everyone's orders and perhaps firing an endless stream of insults at him will not help the process.I suggested to Rodney that he add an auto reply to his email to tell emailers that he's bogged down and orders will take more than 3 weeks. I don't think anyone has had problems getting a refund when they've asked for one (though perhaps someone will correct me on this).I will post back once I've received and assembled it (UPS says I should expect it today), and tell you all how it's gone.

This is starting to be a joke and a real pain. I have made contact with the BBB and the Internet Crime Complaint Center. They are starting to investigate it for me as well. I am trying to be nice about this, but it is not easy when people take advatage of other people who just want to make thier kids happy! I hope to someday see my money. Now, I have to explain to my little one what is happening. I guess that I will just have to tell him that a very mean man took mommy's money and he isn't getting his gift. Ashley/Rodney...if you are reading this still... I hope that you are happy that you have made several children upset and ruined their summers/birthdays/ and backyard fun. Maybe we should call them/him/her a grinch. Also...if you are reading this...just give me my money back and I'll be done with this whole thing. Times are tough enough right now the way it is...especially with a new baby. Give us all a break and just give us our hard earned money back. That's all....please....

Ashley invited me to post her last private email to me, so I am taking her up on it. My reponse is at the top; her original is at the bottom. Copy/paste here again. ----------------------------------- Grow up. You've been a drama queen since the git. You had no reason to even get involved. You did not get ripped off, but felt you had to be a 'go between' for some reason. Someone you USED to work for, but were so willing to give everyone hundreds of dollars when it wasn't even you who took the money? I...don't...think so! Okay, you invited me to 'post that' so I will. ---------------Original Message --------------- From: ashley2102 Date: Jul 17, 2008 3:38 PM bitch... POST THAT!!

Covey, I don't think of this as a really drab soap opera. It's been pretty exciting to me...I look forward to logging on every afternoon when I get home to find out what the next installment is. (Of course, I don't have much of a life!)UPS still shows in transit, on time for delivery on the 18th. I'll let you know....

On the UPS Site, my tracking number just says "billing information received" which means they still don't have the package, right? Time will tell. If it was a fake, though, it wouldn't register on their site, right?? It's UPS's website.

netkna, 3 packages, one tracking number. Seems odd, and I wouldn't be comfortable at all until everything arrives, because every action and move (or lack of) has the added ingredient of 'stress' and anxiety involved. He can't even send in one package with one tracking number. twinmom1120 (and everyone) I am still waiting on my money in Paypal. The status is that he reimbursed, but it's pending and can take up to 7 days to show in my account. See what I mean about every action and move causing stress? As for Ashley, when I commented on her sentences running into each other without periods (like Rodney) and also, how did she know I'd been reimbursed (although I still don't have the money) and posted it here, BEFORE I'd posted it myself, her response is below. My reply is at the top, and her original message is below that, as this is a copy/paste of the email. What really comes to the 'fore-front' of my mind right now is 'if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's probably a duck.' ---------------------------------- I think what struck people odd was that you were willing to pay hundreds of dollars yourself, to pay people back for him, when he isn't your man and so normally you wouldn't have such a personal interest. I'm surprised that you could reach him on the phone when we can't. The bottom line to all of this though, is that "Thank you." What ever the relationship between you is, it's not important and doesn't matter, but thank you for helping to take care of this and/or taking care of it yourself. Kids are expensive to raise, and when parents buy the extras such as playground equipment, and outdoor play equipment, this is money above and beyond the normal expensive costs of living. It's money that people can't afford to lose. Thanks again Ashley. ---------------Original Message --------------- From: ashley2102 Date: Jul 15, 2008 10:37 AM i talked to him n told him about this page he did it while i was on the phone but i really was trying to help most of you but allot of u are rude to me so i am not dealing with this no more please don't copy my mess and post it there because i don't want my kaboodle account to be filled with people being rude about dome climber and no im not hes girlfriend i live in IL he is in NM i used to work 4 him!!

Hey Covey -- the e-mail that you got from ashley is exactly word for word -- right down to the "I'm not stupid!!!!" -- the same e-mail that she sent to me. I agree -- why would she be interested in my real name if she is simply an old friend of Rodney's and what does she know about the availability of the product if she "used" to work for him years ago before he had this problem? She must have something to do with this. I don't know what this guy's racket is, but he must think that we are all stupid! I agree -- either Ashley is in with him on this or she IS him. Regardless -- I won't go away until I know for certain that I have my money back fully. According to the BBB, he still has not responded to their request for information with regard to this matter, nor has he responeded to the FTC. Something tells me that they will never hear from him. As for netkna -- I am glad to hear that you appear to be one of the lucky ones. I hope that the climber is everything that it should be and more. I also hope that you never have to contact Rodney for replacement parts or any other information. As my 6.5 year old daughter would say, "he's a real class act!" Keep up the fight here -- I will continue to check and post, if necessary. BTW, the climber that I purchased from Leaps and Bounds came in 7 days and is absolutely wonderful!! It cost more than Rodney's, but it is well worth it because it actually arrived! My kids have been on it everyday since we put it together. Good luck to everyone!

The climber must be shipped in multiple packages. I have only one tracking number. UPS shows 3 packages.

kanza says his tracking number is a fake. I guess it's just "wait and see" right now. Your dome is supposed to have shipping, but what's with tracking showing delivery of 3 packages? You have others coming besides the dome? The tracking for the dome should bring up the dome information only. Is that working - the tracking number for the dome?

OK, what do you think of this: someone from Dome Climber actually called me today and said that my dome had been shipped. Tracking shows delivery of 3 packages on the 18th. I ordered the largest one b/c my child is older (7) and I wanted him to be able to use it for a long time. I couldn't find another one that large on line, at least that I could afford.Sorry, tkerins, my bad to assume we're all women! I was going to go with "Hell hath no fury like a woman ignored." Guess I can't do that now.

Hi tao14. It's good to hear that you're okay in regard to domeclimber. Yes, I had originally gone with domeclimber's 5 1/2' x 9' because the bars were closer together, but also realized that this would be a problem when my kid's body grows, he's 8-12 years old instead of 5 years old. I expect the bars to last that long. The Costco bars will be good for the bit older kids and for future years if your child is currently not too little. I think with a 3 year old I'd go with some bars pretty close to the ground. They wouldn't be expensive, and wouldn't be a great monetary loss when going to bigger bars later on. I've seen quite a few of the smaller versions of the domes online different places. Just checked, and my Costco bars are supposed to arrive tomorrow rather than today. That's pretty cool that they keep up to date on the tracking information.

OMG, all I can say is that man am I glad I came upon this conversation. I've been looking at these dome climbers for weeks and really wanted to get one for our kids. For some reason I was just holding off, and boy am I glad I did, I called domeclimber a couple of times because I had questions about the climber that I wanted answered before I purchased, no one ever called me back and now I see why. I'm sorry all you folks got ripped off, that is so terrible. I'm really disappointed because these dome climbers seemed really nice, but I'm thankful to all of you for posting your experiences. I did look up the one from Costco, my concern is that the bars may be too far apart for little ones. My 3yo is very active, but small too and I have concern that he won't be able to reach very well. Please send me your comments on the Costco one if you get a chance. Thanks!

Rodney sent me a note with a UPS tracking number and said the dome was coming. It turns out the tracking number was a fake. This guy must either come clean to everyone or must be pursued legally and perhaps criminally.kanza

I too have order a dome from this place. I, like many of you, am still waiting. I have called, e-mailed, called, e-mailed and nothing. I found this site as I was trying to find another means of contacting this guy. I was mad before, but this makes me angry. I just want my money back!

tkerins, the points you make are valid - how would you replace the connectors? I'm still waiting on my reimbursement in paypal, but according to paypal the money can take up to 7 days to show up in my account. Why it takes that long, I don't know, as reimbursed money hasn't taken that long with them before. Whether the circumstances are different this time, compared to 'other' reimbursement situations, that I don't know. The status is that the 'payment has been initiated' and can take up to 7 days to show. I just wouldn't go with domeclimber no matter what now. Yes, what about replacement connectors? With Costco, from the pictures, the metal bars are put together using nuts and bolts. The bolt ending is underneath, so isn't a situation for easily causing scratches. Look to the left of your screen here; the name is "Big Stuff Backyard Dome." The bars definately won't break, and there's no problem getting replacement nuts and bolts. I received the airplane teeter-totter from Costco yesterday. I have to put it together, and it's wrapped up good and tight, securely in a big box and weighs about 160 pounts. My dome is supposed to come today, and hopefully it's all put together already. Big products like this are usually sent in a big truck that belongs to the company, and doesn't come in a normal FedEx truck. There's note (as in the case of the teeter-totter) about having to assemble this item. netkna, I think possibly anyone posting here will have a good chance of getting their dome or reimbursement quickly, as that's the best way for any of us to 'go away' and quit bitching about their company. We're bad for business.

Hey! We're not all angry women here ;-). Some of us are angry men. Im not sure whether to accept a climber if one is shipped or just get my money back. I still want one of these for my daughter but given the events up until now, what will happen if something breaks and I need replacement parts? The pvc I can do myself but the connectors are special. How do I know I won't run into the same problem trying to get replacement parts? Any thoughts gang?

I got an email today also, saying my dome would be shipped in 5 days, along with a tracking number. (Can you get a tracking number before you ship?) Anyway, since I still want the thing, I'm going to wait and see what happens. If we all actually do get our merchandise or our money back, I am going to think that this kind of exchange on Kaboodle is the best way to get action! Is there any old saying about "a band of angry women?" Anyway, if anyone does see a dome or money, please let us know!

jcomer, it's good you put it on the credit card, but you'll probably still have a fight on your hands. Unfortunately I paid directly from my bank account through paypal, and the transaction wasn't through ebay, so I didn't really have any protection at all, only paypal trying to collect from domeclimber. I think my real protection was the 'paypal' backer. Screw with paypal and you won't have an account with them. No one in their right mind wants to do that. I'm supposed to go away now that my reimbursement has been initiated within paypal, but it's kind of hard to do when my money isn't actually showing up in my account yet. Paypal says it will, but I've waited so long for nothing already, not even the interest on this loan.

HOLEY MONKEY is all I can say when I just found this blog!!!! I ordered only two weeks ago, and have been trying to call and e-mail since to get a status. No answers, no calls returned, no e-mails returned. I left a nasty message yesterday saying if I don't hear from you by today, I am having my CC company reverse charges, and now it is the next day and still nothing! And now I find this blog! I can't believe it. The ironic thing is my husband said "put it on the debit card" and I said no, lets use the Master Card because it has protection, I have never been screwed so I have no idea why I said that but.....

I didn't think they were shut down, either, but, like you said shouldn't take orders and people's money if you can't fill them. My email was from UPS with a tracking number, but the package can't be traced yet. I will still be skeptical until the product arrives or my mom gets her money back. It's funny that I called quite nicely each day and left messages and not until I was a bit more forceful did I get any mention. The Internet is a great tool to reach others which is why I had to post like all of you did. BE PERSISTENT if you haven't made contact. Whatever the issues may be with the company, the consumer shouldn't be the one to pay the price!

Ashley, I just noticed your posting BELOW my posting about the money being refunded to me. How did you know that I'd been paid back already, when I hadn't posted it yet? You stated I'd been reimbursed 12 minutes before I announced it here. The only way you could have known about my money being paid back, BEFORE I announced it here, is because you are either Rodney or his lady. I had commented on how your sentences run together without the periods, just like Rodney's does, and you state, "so what if im a bad typer! u got ur money back didn't you!" You posted this 12 minutes after I once again asked for the money, and 12 minutes BEFORE I announced here that the payment reimbursement has been innitiated in paypal. Doesn't matter Rodney. Just thank you for paying it back, and there's no need to go by the name of Ashley anymore, as your username doesn't hold up anymore. No one would have known I'd been paid back unless it was domeclimber.

mrsbeaker, I don't believe these people are shut down. I just think they are taking WAY too many orders without the people to manufacture them quick enough. I think you actually are one of the lucky few who are actually getting their product, and everyone else can keep waiting. Hey, I'm posting again... I guess it's just some of that stuff that sticks to your shoe. Can't seem to shake it off for all you try. I'll get more tired of all this once my money actually DOES show up in paypal. mysbeaker, who was your email notice from? UPS or domeclimber. You only receive notices from UPS about shipments if you are signed up with them to have that done. If from domeclimber, then make sure you have the tracking number. That way you can check that it actually IS being shipped, and you're not being lied to. The domeclimber email says the dome is on back order and is not available at this time. I just checked. Their website is still online with the capability to take orders. I was contacted through Kaboodle email by an attorney. Said there could be possible help. I guess this information is just going to stay online for anyone and everyone to see forever.

Ironically, after I have ruffled some feathers, I just received an email notice that the package is on its way with UPS. If your product isn't available, what is being shipped to me??? Some communication, PLEASE!

I, too, will "go away" once my mother's money is refunded. It has become a mountain of paperwork with her credit card company and my son has a limited amount of summer time left to play with it. PLEASE just refund our money and I won't follow any of the other channels. It was ordered under my mother's name, Elizabeth Stimpson. Please, please, please just do the right thing. If your product is not available, you shouldn't be taking the money for it then. As it is stated in your post, customer satisfaction is of utmost priority. At least make contact with me............

WOW!! I have been trying to contact the company and hadn't reached anyone so I decided to do some online research and saw this post. I have also contacted BBB and will do the other contacts you did as well. I am also contacting the consumer depts. of my local TV stations. What an AWFUL way to do business.........I can tell you that I am one person you would have wished you never ignored!!

This is a copy/paste that I got from Ashley. I am leaving it here, as she sent me the same message that she sent you, twinmom1120. I left my "real" name here, as I figured maybe she was Rodney's lady since she was offering to pay me back. I told her it wasn't her responsibility, but if she is his lady then she would actually be the person who can help. If she isn't, then she isn't in the position to pay anyone. Ashley wanted my real name, and the only benefit to having it would be knowing where to go and pay me; knowing how much to pay me. That means access to Rodney's accounts. I did notice the sentences running into each other, missing periods again. Not too many people do this. Anyhow, the copy/paste. ------------------------ Ashley, you currently don't know anything about his present business dealings, what he is doing, nor why he has let himself get so 'in over his head.' It was avoidable. He still has his website online, so if he had so many orders and couldn't handle them all, why is he still taking more orders with an 'operational' website when he can't make good on the orders he has taken? It is not your responsibility to repay money that he has taken. You have two boys, and that money is for their care. If he can't fill the orders, then he should not be taking them, should not be taking more orders, and should not be keeping the money he took. No one wants to wait forever, but to get the bars in the 2-3 weeks like advertised. I paid $40 for 4 day deliver, and it's been about 6 weeks now. ---------------Original Message --------------- From: ashley2102 Date: Jul 14, 2008 12:44 PM The product does exist though, thats what I'm trying to tell you! ITS ON BACK ORDER!! If you did a charge back though pay pal he has to give you your money back. I understand what you people are upset about I'm not stupid!!! Try to email him again, you have to think to how many upset customers he has just not a couple he has 1,000's of phone calls an emails to go though and call back it's not a big company just him and a few workers to make the domes, they're hand made not manufactured! send me a message with your real name and I'll give you the refund!

I have filed complaints with the BBB, Federal Trade Comission and Internet Crime Complaint Center and I contacted my attorney and he is ging to investigate it for me. I will not stop until I get my kids dome, my money back or he is caught .

Thank you, covey, for writing what you have -- I couldn't agree more!!! Ashley sent me a private e-mail that indicates that she still misses the point that you and I have been trying to make. She claims that he has thousands of customers to get back to and that it's just him and a few workers doing this. I guess that we are supposed to feel sorry for him. I don't -- do you? I agree -- he should shut down the web site and stop taking orders for a product he knows he can not deliver at this time and stop making matters worse. I don't know what this guy is doing -- all I know is that Ashley seems to like him so much that she is offering to pay me money back -- maybe she'll give you you money, too. I really wish that she understood what we are talking about here. I paid for the dome on my credit card. It is currently in dispute. What that means is that I do not have to pay the amount until my credit card company settles things with Rodney. At this time, he has yet to respond to them. My credit card company could still charge me for this transaction in the future if it does not get resolved with Rodney personally. He actually needs to give the money back, otherwise I could still be charged or have to prove that I never received the dome. This is a huge headache that I really don't need. Believe it or not, Ashley, I do have better things to do than post here and try to contact Rodney to get my money back. I am not on here to attack Rodney -- only his manner of doing business, which currently is terrible. If he really does have thousands of customers and we are all writing about the same thing, he could certainly group e-mail a form letter to everyone to save time. The problem is that people have been trying to contact him since April and May -- it is now July -- one would think that he would have gotten back to the first people to have e-mailed by now. Exactly how many times are we supposed to try to contact him before we get a response Ashley? Could you ask him for us please? Thanks!

Thank you, I filed complaints with all of them, and also called my credit card. They said they will credit the amount that I paid, and try to collect with Domeclimber. So if someone paid with credit card, call them!

ps: again, emotion aside and just facts. 'On purpose' is something that you intentionally do. It is not a mistake. Since the website is still online, is continueing to advertise a product that doesn't exist (if it existed we'd have the dome. If this wasn't intentional then we'd have been reimbursed) then this is intentional, on purpose, and there is no excuse. If there was no 'rip off' then our money wouldn't have been taken for a non-existent product, and if there was a supplier problem, and the supplier didn't come through and/or the domes were late in coming because of that, then money should have been reimbursed and/or the the customer should have been contacted and not avoided. All of this is 'on purpose.' Nothing to do with past reputation, whether he's likeable (which I'm sure he is), and/or whether he's historically a very professional and reputable person. Historically he's proven himself professional and dependable. But, again, his website is still online advertsing the product that he's not making good on. This is intentional and on purpose. Think clearly. This is not a personal issue.

ashley2102, this is not an emotion issue, and you are talking 'emotionally.' The facts are: he advertises a product, which is an offer to buy the product. He presents himself as having a product to sell, advertises it well, providing lots of wonderful feedback that presents him and his business as being professional, and the customer will not be disappointed. His past ebay business has been nothing but wonderful feedback from his customers, so why should a person not buy from him? All his customers are happy! They are very pleased with his domes! This is ebay, and all his feedback is positive, so there is absolutely no reason a person should not believe that he has a wonderful product, there is no reason a person would have any other reason than to believe they will get what they are paying for, and will be very happy with the transaction and the dome. This guy has been reliable in all his business dealings. Then suddenly, about 2-3 months ago, things fall apart somehow. Suddenly the domes aren't coming, he is not responding to his customers, but he continues to take the money from each transaction and avoids contact with the person he took the money from. He continues to advertise his product the whole time, people continue to buy, he continues to take the money right away, but does not provide any assurance of the product coming, NOR does he reimburse on the cost of the product when/if he can't provide the product, and avoids contact with those he took the money from. That is called stealing, and has nothing to do with whether this is a nice guy, you used to work for him, you like him, or any other emotional issue. This is called fraud if he does not reimburse the cost of the product, but advertised a non-existent product. It doesn't matter whether he is trying to use our money to start a new business. That is still called fraud in regard to the dome, and perhaps larceny if our money is used to start his new business. We aren't a loan company. Until just a couple months ago, maybe as long as 3, Rodney was very reliable, his customers were happy and satisfied with their dealings with him, and the information being presented in this page is disatisfaction with the decline of his business dealings just recently. Just recent history, not past. The bottom line is that he needs to give our money back. Rodney, my transaction was in paypal. Just reimburse my money and I'll be leaving this thread. I've got other things to do too, and because of your not providing the dome that I paid you for, I've had to put out even more money and buy one at Costco. Whether a supplier problem or not, you took money for a product that you don't have to sell. You are still advertising a product that you don't have to sell. If you weren't purposely taking money from people, and you really DID have a product to sell, then I could see how you would provide the domes we paid for, and your website would still be online. BUT, you don't reimburse for the domes that people have paid for, you have not provided the domes that people have paid for, and your website is still online advertising a product, taking people's money for the product, and there is no product that you are giving them. Otherwise you would be 'making good' to the people who's money you have already taken. This is not even an 'over your head' situation, as your website is STILL online advertising your product so that people will continue to buy it and give you money for nothing. You're not trying to 'get out from under' anything. If you are having a problem with a supplier, why not just reimburse those who have given you money for a dome you can't provide, and stop taking MORE money from your continued advertising on your website. STOP before this gets worse? You have people's money. Why not give it back? Rodney needs to reimburse the money he took. Cut and dried. No emotional 'you don't know him! He's not a rip off! involved here.

No one is arguing with you. We are simply stating the facts as they exist for us. Deflecting the focus onto me and whether or not you feel sorry for my customers is not the issue. Feel sorry for them all you want -- my business is not suffering because I conduct myself professionally. Re-read the comments -- all 8 of them -- that I have made and those of the other people here and those from Rodney's old e-bay site. That is the issue -- what he did and continues to do, or hasn't done, not me, how many times I have posted or whether you should feel sorry for my customers. Perhaps if you were out $200, $300 or $400+ as we all are and your children were upset because they are not getting their birthday present, as is the case with some of the people here, you might have a different attitude. I have yet to get my money back, even though I have requested it several times in e-mails and voice messages. My credit card company has attempted to contact him and he will not respond to them either. Rodney could be the greatest guy in the world -- unfortunately he has not conducted himself in a professional manner here and there are laws out there meant to protect people from behaviors such as these. Defend him all you want because he is your friend -- just don't blame the victims and try to divert the attention onto us. We have done everything correctly. He is in the wrong. The BBB, the FTC and the Albaquerque Attorney General's office all agree, otherwise they would not be investigating him pursuing charges against him. I have documentation to support this from all three. BTW, he has not responded to any of their requests for information either. Does not sound like an innocent man to me. An innocent man would cooperate fully in an attempt to clear his ggod name. Picking on me does not change that fact.

With all due respect, if you really are Ashley, and not Rodney, and if you really do know him, you will understand that our frustrations go way beyond the money that we are all trying to get back. ALL of us have e-mailed and/or called him SEVERAL times and he had not returned any of those calls or e-mails, until I e-mailed him and told him that action had been taken against him. All HE had to do was let everyone know UP FRONT that he was having problems with his vendor so that we could have decided whether or not we wanted to wait for the delivery of the dome or ask for a refund. Instead, he CHOSE to ignore our attempts to contact him, did not tell anyone about the vendor issue, if there really is one, continued to take orders for merchandise that he does not have and can not guarantee can even be delivered and accepted extra money for 4 day delivery, as in my case. If he knew that he couldn't deliver in 6 weeks, then he certaintly should NOT have accepted an additional $30 for 4 day delivery. He did not communicate AT ALL with any of us posting here -- who knows how many other people are out there who haven't posted here who are currently being taken advantage of by him. At the very least he is guilty of deception -- leading people to believe that he had the product and that it was available for delivery when he knew good and well that he did not. That is called operating in Good Faith. He did NOT operate his business in Good Faith, and that is a crime in this country -- intentional or not. People don't mean to kill people in car accidents, but they can still be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for acting recklessly. I also find it interesting that you just joined this forum yesterday -- did good ole Rod call you to post for him? Or are you Rodney? When it comes to this guy, I wouldn't trust ANYONE connected with him. I own my own business and have for nearly 20 years. I did not build it by deceiving my customers -- if I do not have a product or am unable to deliver what a customer orders in the time frame promised, I IMMEDIATELY contact that person to let them know the situation and offer them the choice of waiting for the product arrive, a similar item or a full refund. I do not avoid them and ignore their attempts to reach me with the hope that they will just go away. And I certainly DO NOT keep money for something that I did not do!!! Tell Rodney we're are not impressed with his dishonest business dealings and will not let up until he gets what the law will give him.

I Know Rodney Ward personally! I used to work for him! Netkna your right. He would not do that purposely!! I know him, You will get your Domes! ALL OF YOU!!! THEY MIGHT BE LATE but He's Not a rip off, if you guys don't want to wait get a refund!! I'm sure you will get your money back!!

I know this is going to surprise you, but I don't think that Rodney Ward is a scammer or a criminal. He couldn't have lasted that long on Ebay if he were. This kind of conversation that we are having right now would have happened a long time ago if he were intentionally ripping people off. I think that he is a guy who has gotten in over his head. Maybe his business took off much faster than he was prepared for and maybe he does have vendor problems or maybe he is using our money to start that bigger company, like you said TwinMom. However, having said that, I do think we need to do what we can to get our money back, because my fear is not that he's trying to bilk us but that he is going to declare bankruptcy, then we'll all be without a dome or our $$$!

Covey, I agree with you. I'll bet that amanda_jhonson is Rodney or a cohort of his. I told him that we were all writing about him on here, so he probably signed up just to try to scam us here, too. I'll bet that all of the people who wrote positive reviews probably don't even exist. I tried to locate some of the people listed on his feedback section on his domeclimber web site who were listed as living in New Jersey, where I am, and was unable to find anyone listed in any phone book, on information or the internet. I think that is very odd -- ALL of his customers are unlisted? Not likely. He probably just made up all of the positive feedback -- because if you read it, it's ALL positive on his web site, unlike his old ebay page. So Rod, if you're out there -- we're gonna getcha!!! Hopefully the feds will be knocking on your tree at the fictitious 1901 S. 2nd soon!!!

gsauceda, file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Internet Crimes Complaint Center. Information about this is posted in the messages below, but by doing search online you will come up with the URLs to fill out the complaint online and submit it. You won't be asked for 'identity theft' types of information, but you will have to give your name, address, phone number, and any other types of information for these agencies to validate and confirm that your claim against this person is real and not 'blown out of shape' or false. I gave the websites of this site here, plus ebay and paypal as proof that this is happening to other people. I gave that information to the IC3 yesterday, and as of today ziabox is not longer a registered member of ebay and can't receive money in paypal. Do these complaints with at least these 3 agencies mentioned.

I wish I had discovered this before! I bought the 299 dome more then a month ago and haven't recived anything. Now I know it's a scam. I'll do whatever in my power to stop this guy, so what can I do? GUILLERMO SAUCEDA

This dude is heading for some serious legal trouble. Don't let up you guys! ANyone known anything about filing a class action suit?

I'm using my wife profile to say to you people are wrong I order a dome from this company, with no problems I have a 8x15 and 5x10 there great my kids love them! When my wife showed me this I was disgusted on how you would talk so bad bout someone you don't even know!

Hey, I was wondering where his address had gone when I went to use it to file with those different agencies. I had to come here, and get the address from one of the threads further down this page. Now I know that is was just removed. Since the Internet Crimes Complaint Center has this URL of other people who were swindled, I thought this a good location to drop off this resource: http://www.gobignetwork.com/profiles/Rodney-Ward.aspx The member information at this URL needs to be shut down.

Just an update for everyone. Since I e-mailed him and told him that I discovered that there is no such address as 1901 S. 2nd in Tucumcari, NM and that it is a federal crime to list a fraudulant address when dealing in commerce, neither his domeclimber.com nor his diydomes.com sites have the address listed anymore! I also checked his gobignetwork.com listing and his address is now missing from that site as well. Obviously we have him scared and on the run. Keep filing complaints with whatever agencies are available to do so. I will be going to the Internet Crime site as well as the Albequerque Attorney General's office. I may even try to locate a local tv station to see if they would be interested in doing an investigative piece on him. He really needs to be stopped. Keep up the good work everyone!

Just to let you know. I just went to ebay and checked on the 'ziabox' member. As of today, or at least since I checked yesterday and read feedback, as of now this person is no longer a registered member of ebay. He either quit himself or someone else shut him down. He's been a member since September of 2001, and since ebay is a good way to make money, something is happening here. I sure wouldn't want to willingly quit as a seller. Too good of a way to make money. Just checked also, and the recipient is now also not able to receive money through paypal. I believe he has been shut down by both ebay and paypal, but that means that he doesn't have money coming into paypal now (ripping other people off) which means...who knows how we will get reimbursed now. Really looks to me like this guy has hounds on his heels.

netkna, that is about the same 'word for word' email that I received from both his lady and himself. The first email was from the woman, and the second from Rod. There have been a lot of negative feedback on ebay on this guy, from domes he sold in April and May. Some people received the domes and were happy, and just as many didn't receive the dome, and left negative feedback and were disputing and claiming in Paypal, and dealing with their credit card companies. He is reimbusing a tiny amount to some people, but basically ignoring most everyone. This is the first time that I have heard he's responded in an email using anything but the 'copy/paste' of the email he seems to be sending everyone, about the problem with a supplier and the domes being stronger. He told me in the email that it holds 700 pounds, not 500. Who actually cares of the dome holds 500 or 700 pounds, or even 300, when it is young children playing on the dome? I couldn't care less if the dome can hold 500 pounds, since it's not adults playing on it. netkna, the message you received is the same message he sends everyone. Nobody can wait, but he still doesn't reimburse. I guess he does once in a while, but the times he makes good on a sale, and the times he actually does reimburse, those compared to all the times he takes the money and no one hears from him again, this all keeps a person's 'head swimming' and no one knows what to think. I gave the Internet Crime Complaint Center the web sites, such as this one, of other people who have been scammed by this person. This site right here, and also his ebay username of Ziabox which provides negative feedback from others, these two sites were resources the Internet Crime Complaint Center wanted to show that this person is following a pattern of defrauding people. Paypal is also another resources, as there are other people who have filed claims, or who are in the process of filing claims against this guy. The Internet Crimes Complaint Center is co-sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). Complaints filed via this website are processed and may be referred to federal, state, local or international law enforcement or regulatory agencies for possible investigation. This guy needs to quicly clean up his act and reimburse people or he's going to get in trouble. The BBB has stated there's not really anything on this guy because he's shown some compliancy in the past, but some of the allegations against him are pretty serious. It sounds to me like he's only been messing up for a short time. Not to late to fix things I think.

Unfortunately he is a scam artist and a liar. When I e-mailed him to let him know that I had reported him to the authorities and that I know what he is up to with his little scam, he e-mailed me back threatening me and accusing me of contacting his customers and harrassing them and then called me crazy. I think that he may be on drugs! The only people to whom I have "spoken" are all of you and the authorities. I have no idea what he is talking about when he says that I have called his customers and harrassed them. How would I even know who they are? Has anyone else gotten any threatening or slanderous e-mails from this guy? Sounds like he may actually be scared! Good for us -- keep reporting him and e-mail him to tell him that you have done it! We have to stop this guy.

I just posted, but wanted to show you what Rod said in the email to me. I want to believe he not a scam artist: "I'm sorry your order is late. We were having problems with our supplier, if you have visited our website recently you can see that the hubs (connectors) are plastic we are going currently replacing them they now hold up to 500 lbs. with a bran new design. The new connectors are now pvc pipe. We do appreciate your patience. You will receive a conformation email with your ups tracking #, . We are just a little behind on shipping our orders, because of the replacement. Agian i apologize. We do understand if you cannot wait we can also refund your whole order."

Wow - I feel sick after reading these. I ordered our $399 Dome Climber back in May for my son's 7th birthday. Have called, emailed, etc. just like the rest of you. Put in on my credit card and got a $30 refund like some of you. I really thought I was about to get it next week. Have any of you who posted earlier ever received anything?

I am both upset and happy to find this!! I ordered mid June, and I have called every single day and emailed. He is not responding, and I am thankful that I was only purchasing the smaller one to the total of 149$ (inc shipping). I checked on BBB a while back, and he had an A rating with no negatives against him. I wonder how that is. I will be filing a complaint with as many places as I can. And I will be going through my bank account to have this taken care of.

I went to the New Mexico Attorney General's website and found the URL to use for filing Internet Related Crimes. The site to use is the Internet Crime Complaint Center, found at: http://www.ic3.gov/ The The IC3 is co-sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). Complaints filed via this website are processed and may be referred to federal, state, local or international law enforcement or regulatory agencies for possible investigation. I recommend this site for filing a complaint. That's the BBB, the FTC, and now the IC3 for me. What's next?

I ran across a complaint yesterday that sounded like yours, nurseangel44. Special need kids who are counting on the bar. I wanted to repond to let you know what's up with this guy, but don't have a yahoo account. I was taken like you all, order a dome June 10, and escalated to a claim in PayPal a couple days ago. Reading through paypal though, if this didn't go through ebay then it will be "first come, first served" in snatching Rod's money that comes into PayPal and distribute to the first in the list. Top to bottom. I went ahead and order another one, this time from Costco, a 10' by 5'. It's not what I was really wanting, as I'd wanted the 5 1/2 X 9 from domeclimbers, but I'm also wanting to complete my play yard and want a dome in for summer. This new one comes in 10 to 15 days. I think it's already put together, and cheaper than domeclimber. I just hope paypal can recover the money I paid at domeclimber. It came from my bank account, and not a credit card. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also the Federal Trade Commission. With the FTC, this company and owner information goes into all civil and law enforcement agency databases. I encourage you all to do that. Just do a search online and you'll get the URLs. This guy is in the process of really messing up his life.

I just filed a complaint with the BBB, it is obvious that all the problems everyone is having we have all been scammed by Domeclimber.com, ziabox. It is a shame that parents have to worry about buying toys for their kids, because of frauds.

WARNING: We ordered a dome for our son on May 27th, 2008. It is now July 10th, and we have not gotten the product. Worse than NOT getting the dome, however, is the fact that despite no less than 10 emails and telephone calls to (505)269-4319 / rod@domeclimber.com, we have not been called back or emailed back. We are now in the process of contacting the NM Attorney Generals Office, the Better Business Bureau, and our Visa company to file complaints.

I recently ordered a dome climber and just like the rest of you the run around, no response to emails, phone calls, etc. I paid $399.00 +$60.00 shipping for 4 day delivery, it has been 2 weeks, no response to anything and I have tried relentlessly to reach them. I am going to contact the BBB. I paid with Pay Pal and have started a dispute and already esculated it it for refund.

Well, I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of the Southwest, who is sending the complaint to the appropriate agency. I want nothing but a refund from these people right now, but would even settle for a 'right now' tracking number showing that I'll get the dome in 4 days. The Better Business Bureau can be found online, a complaint filed online, it's quick and painless, and please do it. Rodney Ward is already in their database.

I paid for a dome on June 10, and got a couple emails with the promise of the refund on the 4 day shipping, and the promise of still getting the dome shipped in the 4 days and I'd get this 'next week.' These are the only two contacts. I never received anything except the refund of the $40, and cannot contact them by phone like the rest of you. I paid through PayPal, and opened a dispute yesterday and escalated to a claim today. Domeclimbers quickly snatched my money out of PayPal, so use PayPal for their business so PayPal should be able to deal with them. Unfortunately the money came directly from my bank account, so I guess I'll have to depend on PayPal to try recovering my money. From the way this guy is working , he does sound like a crook and is going to get caught if he doesn't prove himself honest and refund everyone's money or supply the product that was purchased. I believe I'll be dealing with the Better Business Bureau, and other reporting agencies, just as you are doing here. The feedback for this person at domeclimbers ended in April. Until then he had steady business, and so the trend shows that he defrauding an awful lot of people. No one has problems with suppliers THAT long.

More information on Rodney Ward. I went to zillow.com and there is no 1901 S. 2nd in Tucumcari, NM. On google earth it's the tree on the corner of the property! Rodney is also listed on e-bay under ziabox selling his dome climbers. There is a lot of negative feedback about him -- no product, no communication, no refunds etc. He is also listed on a web site gobignetwork.com. He is currently looking for $100,000 to start up another company, diydomes.com. Obviously, he can't get any backers in this economy, so he is taking our money to start this other company. Many of the people who complained about him on e-bay stated that they didn't get their money back until it had been in dispute with their credit card companies for over a month. He's probably giving the money back once he gets another order from one of us unsuspecting moms or dads. Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Apparently he has caller ID, so if you try to call, block your number by hitting *67 before dialing his number. Sorry to keep writing, but I am really steamed at this guy for duping all of us!

I just filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission about this guy -- Rodney Ward -- and his company. Anyone else who has been taken by him and his deceptive practices, please do the same. The more complaints that are filed, the more likely that the FTC will actually do something about him. I also looked his address up on google earth, and it is actually a residence. It's not a warehouse or even in a commercial area. This guy is a real scam artist. I'll bet that all of his feedback is just as fake as he is. I tried to locate some of his customers listed in the feedback section on his web site who would live near me and I couldn't find even one person in the phone book or on the internet. I hope that we all get our money back. Good luck!!

I just received confirmation from the BBB of the South West that they will be investigating domeclimber.com. the more complaints that they receive, the better, I am sure. Alaskamom, I ordered a different dome climber from Leaps and Bounds catalog. It is about 5x10 and is at least being sold by a reputable comapny. My kids were very upset as well when I had to tell them that the dome climber wasn't coming. These people are just despicable. I hope that the BBB can do something to stop them. I am considering contacting the FTC and file charges of false advertising against them. I am so angry with these people. good luck with your situation.

I ordered a Dome Climber in May 2008, charging $ 399. on my credit card. I was told it would be shipped in 2-3 weeks. On June 23rd, when it still had not arrived, I called and spoke with Rod. He asked for my order info and said he'd look up my order and get back to me on the status of my order. I never got a call back. I called again June 24, 25 & 26 but could not get anyone on the phone. I also sent numerous emails. On June 26th, I finally received a response to one of my emails, apologizing for the delay in my order being shipped and was told my credit card was being credited $ 30. for the inconvenience of the order being delayed. Their email also stated I would get an email early next week (first week of July) that would confirm the time and date my order was shipped. The email did not come. It is now July 7th, and after calling and emailing them again July 3rd and this morning, July 7th, I have still received no further response from DomeClimber.com. I have contacted my credit card company this afternoon and filed a dispute. Now I have to find a way to explain to my 7 year old son that the awesome dome climber we picked out together and ordered on the internet isn't coming. He's been so excited about getting it. He's going to be crushed when I have to tell him its not coming.

I also purchased a dome climber in May 2008. I have yet to receive it but my credit card was charged. I left several messages via email and phone and no one has returned my calls. I contacted the better business bureau and they are going after these scumbags.

I also ordered a dome climber back in May and it has not shipped. I actually spoke with someone (A woman) who told me they were back ordered due to missing parts and that it would ship within the week, that was 2 weeks ago and still no shipment. The funny thing is she offered me a discount (unsolicited) for my inconvenience of $30.00 off. Not sure what they are up to but suffice it to say it's not good.

I ordered a dome climber from domeclimber.com on 6/20/08 and paid an extra $30 to have it shipped in 4 days. It has been nearly two weeks -- no climber, no responses to 2 emails and no ability to leave a voice message on their answering service. I just got off of the phone with my CC company and am disputing the charge. I agree with the other person -- DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE -- IT IS A SCAM!!!

I purchased a dome climber from domeclimber.com but Rod will not reply to phone messages or emails and I have not received my climber yet. It has been a month and a half since my VISA was charged for $100 more than the receipt he emailed me and I still have no product. This guy is a scam! DON'T BUY FROM DOMECLIMBER.COM!!!
