If you have gone around and changed all of the light bulbs in your house to those new energy saver bulbs that last 5 years then good for you. But if you also have a Plasma TV then your defeating the purpose. A Plasma TV uses as much energy as a refrigerator. There also very heavy to ship and use more fuel for that reason. Another drawback to Plasma Tv's are the fact that they put off a lot of heat. If you leave the TV on or an image gets locked onto the screen and no one notices it that image will be "burned" into the screen. Yet another problem is a shelf life of only 10 thousand hours verses the LCD which has limitless viewing hours. The LCD is a liquid crystal TV and does not put off the tremendous amounts of heat. Its also lighter weight and uses less electricity. If you have a choice between the twobuy a flat screened LCD. The average family watches 2500 hours worth of TV every year. With only 10 thousand hours worth of viewing time on a Plasma your TV may last 5 years.
