This is the ABS plastic infrared trashcan. ABS plastic is the highest grade of plastic in the market. The patented technology infrared sensor detects motion within ten inches. The sensor made it possible that you no longer have to have contact with the dirty trash can. We've taken away the pedals and the pushing/lifting of lid to truly avoid you from germs. The distance and angle of the sensor has been tested over thousand of times to ensure that it would be the best possible. The location of the sensor insures that the lid to the trash can does not open each time a person or animal nears the trash can. Instead, the sensor is located on top of the can and motion must be above the sensor in order to activate the lid opening.

The trash cans are battery operated. Technicians worked with physicists to find the best energy saving formula and designed the mechanism to specifications. With one change of batteries, it will run for more than 10,000 open and closes before new batteries are required. In most households that amount of openings and closings means the batteries should last a minimum of six months and could last up to a year. (batteries not included)
