I use a LJ 1020 which is not compatible with any wireless printer server confirmed by HP). I just ran across this and learned that it does work with the 1020 BUT it is NOT a wireless network printer server - it works directly with the PC sending the print job via 802.11g wireless. (I had a lengthy chat with HP Pre-sales support about this device...) The 1020 and many other newer HP printers are cheap because they off loaded processing of the print job to the PC rather than build the printer with the CPU to do it. As a result the printer requires bi-directional communication with the PC during the print job. Normal wireless printer servers do not support this. The upgrade kit here does support it. However, let's say you are browsing the web and find something you wish to print. When you hit the print button you connection with the internet is cut and a wireless link to the printer is established for the duration of the print job. When the print job is finished you then manually re-establish connectivity with the internet. This may or may not be acceptable for you - just be aware that is how this device works.
