Music social networks have become more and more popular these days. There are many services coming up to the horizon nowadays, and each offers a way for us to enjoy original music comes from their members. One of the newest entry in the niche is iJigg. iJigg is a web2.0 ajax-based music social network where you can find music and tunes from musicians worldwide. As a musician, with iJigg, you can submit your own music. As members, you can listen to the music, rate them in a Digg-like rating system (called “Jigg”), embed the music to your blog or websites, and join in on conversations. To rate a music, you can simply click on the “Jigg It” button on the music player. You can also see your Jigg history and send messages to other users. Those are basically all the features at iJigg, which is surprisingly not many. Fortunately, the embeddable player looks nice. Below is the embeddable player of one of our favorite music: iJigg presentation is quite nice. With its digg-like front page, and its clean and clear design, it offers musicians to easily post music and us to listen to them. At the moment you can only upload MP3 files, but other formats will be supported soon. Although you can send messages to other users, there seems to have no menu to find or see other members, unless you go to the music discussion. There is no friends list in the profile page as well, which is unfortunate, since it is the most basic feature of a social networking site. WorldTechLogic has posted several music social networks earlier, Sonific’s SongSpot, Last.FM, and HayStack. The embeddable music player feature of iJigg can be found in Sonific’s SongSpot, which is a very cool feature to showcase the song we like at our site. It’s one of the plus points we have for iJigg. Music tags, which iJigg doesn’t have, can be found in Sonific’s SongSpot and Last.FM, which is unfortunate for iJigg since it’s a nice feature to easily choose which music category we want to see. Compare to HayStack, iJigg definitely comes on top of it in terms of its overall presentation. However, although iJigg offers nice music and good presentation, it falls short from Sonific’s SongSpot and Last.FM with the features that they have. Still in our number one choice is Sonific’s SongSpot (read the post to see why). signup with iJigg, can click HERE!
