Normally I might recommend against permanently installing anything Ikea in one’s house. One day a neighbor who was moving out left a Tromso in the street. After hacking it up and adding a couple pieces of extra hardware, it worked perfectly as a loft bed space on my previously useless top of my closet. Sometimes Ikea furniture needs a little extra something to “get the Ikea out”. This is an Ikea Kajak with Verushka the mannequin torso permanently attached to the top. The unit spins with storage on one side and a full length mirror on the other. Last is this pasta/salad bowl turned into a hanging planter.

We bought this for our daughter thinking it would give her more space in her room. Not worth it at all. Everytime she moves it squeaks so loud, I can hear it all the way in my room. Anyone have any suggtions to fix the very loud squeaky sound?
That bed, when you see the source page, is mounted atop a useless closet top, making it a pretty awesome loft. I could do without the mannequins, but insofar as building a spare bed, you have to love the ingenuity!
