I first heard Fernando Ortega when he collaberated with John Andrew Schreiner on one of the "One Voice" series that John had been producing. Fernando stood out like a beautiful gift. I knew right then that we would be hearing more from him. His music is fresh......deep and very personal to listen to. He lends his voice quite genuinly and appealing to our emotions, and of course touching our hearts and spirits with words that fit perfectly with his voice. I Love his music, and I consider myself a fan owning all of Fernando's music on Cd now. It seems like our christian singers from the 80's and the 90's have dissappeared into a typically Praise congested atmosphere. Where orginality is replaced with community offerings, But to me.......Fernando's music is very much personal. Faith that runs deep and his music touches that part in me that has been avoid for so long in needing the musical and lyrical contemplation. I recommend all of Fernando Cd's, however........"The Breaking of the Dawn" and "In a Welcome Field" are the two to start with. And if you like Piano Music.........Fernando is a classicaly trained Pianist and offers two Cd's wholey devoted to his Piano artistry......"Meditations of the Heart" (grand Piano) Comment | Was this review helpful to you?
