The Madison County Community Council is a great example of a coalition with an extensive track record of accomplishments. They functioned for about three and a half years on a shoe string budget, and all volunteer efforts. During these first years they were able to have a significant impact on the community, families, and youth. After about seven years they had their first Americorps member, which was their first time with even a part time staff member.
