i think it would be nice to have one but other the wi-fi whatever stuff and touch screen i thik its an expensive luxury. im not saying its stupid or anything im just saying that too much for such a little thing and you would be better off buying a computer for the same price than waste your time on something somebody will steal or get broken ir hit buttons when you dont want to.
a) no it doesnt cost money to have internet. well. depends. if you already have internet and your wifi finds it. so unless your neighbours dont have a security safe internet, i guess your good to go without having your own internet. b) guy who said it should have a mic.. i agree. using skype would be good. but dont blame them. they weren't trying to make us internet phones, they wanted us to use the iphone. i get it. but that would be a good arguement to fight them with. c) WHATEVER YOU DO WITH YOUR ITOUCH NEVER LET IT FULLY RUN OUT OF BATTERY. i did. now it is broken. i kept it charging like for 5 hours, still barely alive. and now, since it kept messing up, i had to restore it. it can't even restore it. thank god my dad bought it from costco. they take everything back there. d) the screen is frickin AWESOME. okay, so some of my aunts have the iphone, right? this is like SHABAM. wooop. so much clearer, if that is possible. you kinda forget your watching movies from such a small screen. thats how good. e) i wish they gave more gigs. seriously. 8GB? nah. my dad knew i needed the 16 GB. but it takes off like 2 GBs because of all the programs already in it. so it only actually gave me 14.8 GB. so you need something a little bigger than just 16 if you want movies and all that fun stuff. f) you will never appreciate youtube as much unless you have the itouch and an okay wifi connection. i have like, say, 2/3 bars from my room? when my moms like... go to bed. lock the computer room. rawr. im like...oooo SUCKA! hahah just fiddle with my itouch. mostly watch random youtubes i wouldnt give a chance on. mostly south park, that 70s show, and dane cook. haha. g) i really wish it had the voyager feature with the phone flipping sideways with an open keyboard. typing on hotmail or myspace is pretty hard with the touch screen. if i had to buy one, i'd probably buy the voyager. cause not only is verizon way better than at&t (which is getting better, no doubt, but still), but it has that advantage. plus free calls after 9 and weekends, and free to all verizon phones. good good. so yeah. i'd give it......4.5/5 woop!
lacks external speaker and mic -which would have made it a great iphone voip alternative (internet telephony) [skype,gizmo,sip]. at the moment, it functionally trumps the iphone in price and capacity. for more versatiliy, iphone. and, you don't have to use the phone part to use an iphone's other features this one can't do.all depends what you want and what you plan to do. still a great piece of technology.

i feel the same way about my blackberry and at&t. Plus mines is a Nextel so I use the walkie-talkie and my plan has free incoming call..that's the only reason I didn't get the iphone.

This phone is beautiful. My husband got it last week. It is so functional. It's like a lot of little gadgets rolled up into one and very easy to organize your life with. Lots of fun.
