Our "King of the Mountains" trips to the Grand Tours are rapidly becoming the reference for others to emulate (and copy!). Join us and you can expect a trip of the highest quality: * The Thomson Bike Tour RIDE: compare our rides to those of other tour operators. Look very closely at the level of detail and you'll quickly understand why we have a reputation as providing the best (and most challenging) rides. 25 years Grand Tour experience counts! * Choice of rides: each day you'll have the choice of 2 different ride lengths/paces. The A Group averages approximately 45 miles/day, the "B" Group averages approximately 65 miles/day. * Top Race-viewing locations: our vantage point teams are in place well before the race comes through to ensure that you get optimal viewing at the most strategic locations on each climb. * LESS TRANSFER - MORE BIKING: Only 1 Van Transfer between Sappada and Merano throughout the entire trip. Our bike rides start and finish at the hotel. Our local knowledge, expert planning and experience mean that you spend less time in a van and more time on the bike! * Limited Hotel Changes: we've designed the trip so you stay 4 nights in the same hotel in Cortina and 2 nights in Bormio. * Highest Staff to Customer Ratio: 1 staff member per 4 customers! * Best-in-class Support and ride leaders: one of the keys to our success! * BE WARY: of many tour operators who provide vague, high-level itineraries with little detail. This usually means their trying to hide something - like the fact that you'll be spending 5 hours in a coach before starting your bike ride! Our itineraries are clear and we promise you only one van transfer on Day 6 between Sappada and Bolzano. When choosing a trip always ask for explicit itineraries showing how many hours you'll spend on the bike and how many hours you'll be stuck in a van or coach each day! You may be surprised....

David also DREAMS of this vacation tour. It is riding the same roads as in the Giro D'Italia! It is sold out for 2007 but they are reserving for 2008. Any of these vacations would blow him away!!!
