LCD TV Problems stem from the fact that LCD TVs are sophisticated high tech electronics and as the prices decrease their popularity increase. LCD TV Problem #1- Unsophisticated buyers Ouch that hurts. The majority of buyers don’t realize the level of technology they are spending thousands of dollars on. The reality is “This isn’t your mama’s TV”! In order to avoid as many LCD TV problems resulting from user error be sure to read your Users Guide. LCD TV Problem #2 – Factory Screen Settings You will want to re adjust your screen settings ie: brightness, Tint, Contrast, Color & Sharp to suit your viewing style. The “Out of the box” settings are defaulted for retail store lighting. You’ll want to tune them down some. LCD TV Problem #3 – Widescreen Formatting If you don’t have your screen formatted properly the picture will look distorted and stretched when switching from normal TV viewing to full or widescreen viewing. LCD TV Problem #4 – Poor signal strength If the strength of the signal your LCD TV is receiving is weak your picture quality won’t be as good. You may need to replace your HDMI cable or contact your cable, satellite or broadcast company. LCD TV Problem #5 – Fast Action Screen Delay If you spend most of your time watching fast action sports like basket ball or hockey or you’re into action films like Star Wars an LCD may not be right for you. LCDs are notorious for screen delays and shadowing where the digital picture can’t keep up with the action. This is improving with new technology. LCD TV Problem #6 – Screen Size Limitation For most people this is not going to be an issue because 65” is plenty big enough but for those consumers wanting something larger they will have to shift to plasma or some type of projection screen. The LCD Flat Screen’s don’t get any bigger than 65” as of yet. I’m sure manufacturers are working on that. LCD TV Problem #7 – BIG PICTURE …little sound Everyone is so excited when they get their new LCD flat screen TV home, ready for their in home movie theater experience and the sound coming from the speakers leaves a lot to be desired. Adding some surround sound speakers can usually fix that problem. LCD TV Problem #8 - Smearing Many times LCD TVs can develop smearing, dark wavy lines that run vertical across the screen. This is something that a certified service technician should take a look at. LCD TV Problem #9 – Firmware Updates LCD TVs have firmware just like computers. When manufacturers find glitches they will update the firmware to fix the problems. You need to check with you manufacturer and update the firmware in your LCD TV or have a certified technician update it for you. LCD TV Problem #10 – Installation Do it yourselfers can really create LCD TV Problems when they try installing it themselves. This can be a problem especially if your wall mounting the television. In order to avoid LCD TV problems we recommend spending a little extra money and having a professional set up your new LCD TV even if it is just unpacking it, hooking up your gaming and video systems and getting your setting in order. Don’t set yourself up for more LCD TV problems than you need to. Read your owner manual and hire a professional to deal with the technical issues.

Most LCD TV Problems can be avoided just by reading the Owners Manual. Other issues like screen delay, size limits, wide screen formatting and 1080p resolution.
