THIS PRODUCT IS NOT EASY TO SET UP IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LINKSYS ROUTER!!! It's not terribly difficult, but you need some detailed knowledge of home networking and routers to configure it properly. IT DOES NOT CONFIGURE WITH THE ENCLOSED SOFTWARE with D-Link or other routers. Once I got the bridge set-up, it worked perfectly - just as I'd hoped. | Reviewed by: jvc123 on Feb 25, 2007 | Summary: Excellent product. Very easy to configure with enclosed software. The range is awesome if you have a wireless router with a good signal. To switch from playing music via the bridge to your pc speakers close your music source (windows media player, Itunes etc) before switching in the linksys software. I thought this would be a snap to get going because I am using a Linksys router, but it was a pig to set up, the software can't see the Music Bridge, the UI looks screwy and has it's right side clipped off on my display, and the software crashes everytime I try to use it. I bought one to play my digital library through a BOSE WaveRadio. Well that got me hooked... got two more No problems with the installation at all... I had to reboot the PC the first time to get it working and then I had to ping the device. The sound quality that comes out of this is excellent. It also has a built-in Equalizer and some predefined sound curves neither of which I use as I like the default sound the best. You can also select WHICH WMB54G you want to play from. One thing I don't like, that no one anywhere has mentioned... It has two blue LED's on the front panel. One is for power and the other blinks when it is connected to the router wirelessly. These lights are VERY annoying. So get a small piece of black electricians tape and cover the LED's. Set-up of the device was completely painless and the fidelity of the device is quite high (it also has an optical output and digital coax output; two features that are appreciated if you have a high end system). However, I was disappointed that the device makes you choose between your PC speakers or the bridge. I was hoping to stream the music to both locations but, then again, I should have gone to the Linksys website and downloaded the instructions first as the manual is quite explicit. I haven't yet played with trying to run two bridges simultaneously (here the documentation is a little less clear). Overall, a very high quality device; since I have a multiple satellite radios this allows me to give one up; as a consequence the unit pays for itself in no time! See less »
