Masayuki Marukawa graduated from Bunka Fashion College in Japan and worked as chief designer at Yohji Yamamoto. In 2004, Masayuki Marukawa presented his first signature collection, m/m. (The m/m is pronounced "milli," as in "millimeter.") m/m is a women's RTW collection that combines casual deconstructionism with strong femininity. The tailoring is forward-looking with an emphasis on personal expression. Many pieces can be worn in a variety of ways, day-to-night designs that can be turned inside out, upside down, or backwards. These interchangeable designs allow for more individuality and show up clearly in m/m's fall '07 line. blaec was featured in SOMA magazine with his innovative black jacket and little black slip dress.
