I have about 20 different shades. This is the best eye shadow out there (better than Urban Decay and Nars, which are my runners up in eye shadow). The pigments can be subtle or intense, depending on how they are applied, and there are so many of them. As a photographer/stylist, these work amazing on camera. If you want a really intense hue, wet your brush and layer like crazy. The color lasts all day, through the night, and if you sleep with it on (and used a primer) into the next day. Yay Mac! My normal day shade is Bitter, All that Glitters, or Vex, although I love to combine 4 or more colors now and then.

I really prefer to use pressed powder eyeshadows. MAC has an amazing selection of colours that are both wearable and of-the-moment. I also love that they are just in individual pots. I hate buying palettes because I always use one or two up first, then I feel obligated to keep the entire palette just for the one colour that's left.
