I can’t remember if I started taking pictures of dried up salt by accident or on purpose. There is something about it though that I keep going back to. I find the way that the salt dries and reforms to be quite interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever just taken a picture of table salt right out of the canister. I always mix it up with water, let it dry, and then watch the fun start to happen. Then with my 2 lens macro setup I can get in really close and expose the intricate patterns and crystals. This particular set did not yield any large crystals like I have had form in the past but there are quite a few formations that turned out nicely. This set was done in a black bowl with a clear bottom so that I could shine the light up through the bottom and get some good lighting.
