Reclaiming broken remains of World War II Era mason jars and other types of antique glass bottles, artist Laura Bergman sets out to protect the wildlife and the environment by cleaning up the old glass dumps dotting the landscape in rural Pennsylvania Amish country. She then uses her artistic talents to create beautiful handmade jewelry from the very fragments that time has forgotten. At Bottled Up Designs, as a master glass cutter, Laura polishes and molds the recycled glass to eliminate any sharp edges. She then skillfully mounts the glass in delicate spirals of sterling hoops to produce enchanting pendants and earrings that catch the light with every move! Laura strings each pendant onto a simple contemporary round neck cord made from recycled rubber tires. The durable silver plate hook & loop clasp is easy to use, too! Expect to see variations of waves, hues and bubbles in each piece of glass. A Story of the Glass outlining its original use and approximate age accompanies each selection! You will have fun sharing the historical insight with friends as they admire your lovely antique glass treasures.
