MALM bed frame

Has anybody been having problems with this bed? I have the Ikea Malm and for the last couple months I've been getting some lower back pain, and wondering if it's the metal spring and wooden slats that contributes to it, or if the mattress (I have the Sultan) is any good. My boyfriend has a Malm also, and I get worse back pain sleeping on his bed than I do mine. It feels like there's a dip in the middle when we sleep in the center. Anybody experience the same issues?
