so i'm a romantic... go all out on your day .... you rarely get a second chance. guess it is voe (voice of...) speaking. married 21 yrs, didn't do it our way, wish we had.
although its more expensive i think its nicer when you have people special to you sharing in your celebration
get married in the carribean or pacific side of Mexico and let anyone who can afford a week or so off pay their own way. You can find some lovely restaurants for under 1000 that will even let you get married right there by the beach!

Let your family enjoy your special day! You can do a small wedding for even less than $3000 if you handle most of the details yourself.
If you can afford it, I vote for the wedding. I wanted to elope, but he wanted a day with all our family & friends. I'm glad we did!
The way I look at it, I only PLAN on getting married once...and I'd want to share it with people I love and make it a day I'll always remember. Congrats!! :c)
if ur close to family and friends you'll regret eloping. Pay for the small wedding. Even though it's more money you'll get so back in gifts!
That looks absolutely beautiful for a wedding, and what a memorable one it would be if you had it there.
40 guests at $3000 is not bad at all for a wedding at least you're not spending 30,000! Happy wedding and a great marriage to you!
This way you will have no regrets and will never wonder what it would have been like to have the "fairytale wedding."
I'm so conservative... but I also couldn't imagine getting married without my best friends and my parents there. I'd have to go for small wedding!
I say go for the small wedding...you'll be able to cherish the memories with loved ones later. I had a small wedding on the beach w/ 3 guests...and then had a much larger reception at home to share with everyone else.
to elope means to run away from something. are you ahamed of your choice?? if not have the small wedding. :)
This was easy. To share this memory with family and friends is a must. Have a smaller wedding and go to Barbados for your honeymoon. That's for the two of you.
beautiful
elopment is wonderful, you get to spend your special day with just yourselves and it is a lot more cost effective. but when it is all said and done, a great party with great friends and family is worth the cost.
you never get this day again (supposedly...) get the video camera and show it to your kids... They will love every second of it!
oh, i don't know... i'd always go for the romantic, fairytale-ish wedding, you can elope later for your honeymoon to Barbados or wherever you want but you can't really recreate this stylish mansion the next time you wish you've gotten married there :)
i have had both small is better and u will want your loved one there. elope i wished my family was there. even tho it was so much easier!
This would be My choice, but, if traditional wedding isn't very important to you, and you think you would enjoy eloping, go for it.
u will hopefully have only 1 wedding and the memories will be forever.. it's a girls dream to have the wedding of their dreams
eloping may seem fun and cheaper, but think of all the people who wont be there and if you have kids do you wont to tell them you just got eloped or do you want to tell them about a beautiful small wedding
e1 will remember it forever & so will u, trust me if u don't do the small wedding u'll regret it lol i do
u might regret it later...
If you elope, you risk hurting people's feelings, and people probably won't give you wedding gifts. Still, you should be able to plan a nice wedding inexpensively. Pick what is most important to splurge, and be conservative on everything else. But STAY AWAY from David's Bridal...those folks will send you spam every day for a long time.
Just went through this with about 60 guests. It was an excuse for a party and to get all of our friends from all over the country together. If you can dictate the list, do the small wedding
While a wedding is "supposed" to be for the bride and groom, it's really a way for your friends and family to celebrate your happiness with you. If you elope, you rob them of that chance. Plus, you'll always wish you'd had your real-life fairy tale wedding.
You don't ever want to look back and regret it...family and friends should be there...you could always get married again at Vegas for your 10 yr. anniversary but not the other way around. : )
