The wearing of appropriatestyles of Hanfu was an important part of courteous refined behaviour.Confucius considered Hanfu a very important part of Chinese ceremonyand ritual and many of his quotations contain references to Hanfu. Thestyle of Han Chinese clothing can be summarized as containing garmentelements that are arranged in distinctive and sometime specific ways. Manyof the earlier designs are more gender-neutral and simple in cuttings.Later garments incorporate multiple pieces with men commonly wearingpants and women commonly wearing skirts.
