For an all-day-in-the-kitchen twist, instead of cinnamon sugar, decorate the cookies with colored sugar, red hot cinnamons, mini M&Ms, or jimmies before baking. My kids have this creativity down to a science. They perfected making a face with the above ingredients. Sometimes it slides to the side of the cookie in baking for a Picasso effect. Sometimes using just colored sugar, they are tie-dyed looking.
