I bought three and was a bit disappointed by the light output. I wish that you could figure out how many lumens (which is an easily understood brightness: how many candle flames of light output) are in all these funky lights. I think it's because manufacturers are scared because their light suck. If you notice, all the bright, good lights give you lumens as a measurement and the iffy ones don't. I should have known. Too expensive for my blood. Yeah, 9 might make an interesting look, but that's $450.
In my local acoustic project "Common Ground" (commongroundMN.com) we have the need for vivid stage lighting that doesn't eat up a ton of space or current. I purchased 9 of these lights (4 per side and 1 for 5x7 banner) and the effect has been amazing. Each of the 2 front lighting modules is a rigged "vanity lighting" housing with 4 inline lights each, and one light in the back for the banner. The entire assembly takes up enough room to comfortably fit into a 3'x1'x1'box (or dufflebag).

Ooh. Always thought rainbow effects were cool. They are great for parties or mood lighting like it says.
