It’s rare to see web2.0 services that are all interesting, useful, and good looking these days with the many services we have on the internet. It’s even rarer to find a company that has multiple great services. One of such company is ATTAP. ATTAP is a small group of innovators whose goal is to help fulfill the promise of the web by making useful stuff available to all. ATTAP has great services for you to try on. Every single ATTAP services are connected to each other, so all you need to do is to signup with one, and you will have access to all. In these 3-part posts, we will show you what ATTAP has in store for you. The first post we’ll do is about Riffs. Riffs is a web2.0 ajax-based social recommender service where you can find out what the community thinks about what you’re interested in. Ratings are either rants (thumbs down!) or raves (thumbs up!). You can give any item an overall rating. You can rate specific features of each item (pros and cons), or rate other people’s reviews of an item. Riffs has many items which are grouped in different categories (Music, Movie, TV, Games, etc). To start rating stuffs, you can use the search box at the top of the screen to search for any item on Riffs in any category, the most popular items in different categories, the best reviewers, or the most common tags. If you cannot find what you’re looking for, you can add your new item to Riffs along with your description. There is also a feature to chat with other Riffs members (Riffrs) on Riffs. are also other interesting features called iSuggest, Rifflet, RiffRoll, and RiffBlog. iSuggest is a downloadable application that connects your iTunes library to Riffs. It allows you to get music recommendations right where you listen to music (in your iTunes) and at the same time helps you keep your Riffs music preferences updated. The Rifflet is a tool that you can use to enter any URL (website) into Riffs with one easy click, as is available from the add item page. Simply drag the Rifflet from the “Post to Riffs” text and drop it into your bookmarks toolbar, and use it to enter web pages into Riffs by simply clicking on it when you’re on an interesting page. The RiffRoll is a tool that allows you to easily post your latest rants and raves to your blog in a style that suits you. RiffRoll updates on your blog automatically as you use Riffs, and you never have to update it unless you want to change the way it looks on your blog. Last but not least, the RiffBlog feature allows you to put your riffs and reviews directly onto your blog. Enter your blog information once, and you’ll have the option to put any item, complete with a picture, a description, and, most importantly, your riff and review right onto your blog. Riffs offers a great way of rating various items in many categories. With its clean and clear design, interesting features, and an easy-to-use use interface, Riffs is the perfect media to to give out your thoughts on certain items. Still in its Alpha phase, Riffs has already wowed us far.
