Thank you very much for the pattern!!! * Gabbi Says: July 29th, 2008 at 11:47 am My husband and I used to live in university housing when we first got married. Our apartment was right next to the colliseum (we shared a parking lot with it), and people were always taking our parking spaces during games. One night after grocery shopping, my husband parked behind the car in our usual space so that he could unload. Turned out to be the car of the coach from the visiting team. We stored a few cones under our stairs for us and our neighbors to use to save our parking spaces. It was such a huge thing that we got Parking Services involved, sometimes UPD, and even had signs put up in front of each space that they were reserved for the residents only. I’m going to make a few of these for my husband’s cubicle. They will be the perfect mementos for our upcoming fifth anniversary. Thanks so much for this adorable pattern! * Tina Says: July 29th, 2008 at 1:22 pm First of all I love this project and the first one I made I gave to my husband who has his own asphalt business and he loved it and had me put a hanger on it so he could hang it from his rear view mirror, that may not sound like much but for him it is, he likes my stuff but knitted and crocheted things are not his forte however he LOVED this and his first question was; “This is mine right?” Also I noticed that in the above pattern for the row that ends in 15sc if you go by the Sc instructions for that row you would end up with 14sc. Thank you for sharing this project! * aliciak Says: July 30th, 2008 at 8:03 am @Tina it should be 15sc…there are 3 “2sc” in that round. I love your story! And yes, translating crochet/knitted things into gifts for men…no easy feat!!! @Gabbi, that’s fantastic! I’m imaging little safety cone trying to protect your parking spot and getting *gasp*, squashed! But wow, I’m soooo happy to make your 5th anniversary more special! @Jill, do you have a link to the paintings your husband did. Would love to see! @Michelle, good idea! Maybe safety cone could become a fixture in hospital ERs for all the “oopsie” injuries, at least in the kids’ ward. Hmm, you’ve got me thinking and brainstorming… * Leigh Says: August 2nd, 2008 at 11:18 am It’s interesting how many people have memories tied to safety cones!
