SD(MMC)/MS disks offer the benefit of low power consumption, low operating temperature, no acoustic noise, shock resistance, and fast read access time. The IDE To SD (MMC) / MS adapter is transparent to the operating system and does not require any drivers. With this adaptor, the host PC will identify the inserted SD/MMC card as a standard IDE hard disk. As such, you can install any operating systems and the SD/MMC card will be bootable. In such situation, the SD(MMC)/MS is no hot swappable. I have bought it (on brando, if this is the same product) and there are problems: XP sees it read only, Vista does not see it. I was able to install Ubuntu on it, and it runs RW without problems, but only when it was in USB reader during install, and then changing GRUB settings (devices file, menu file)
