See more » Designed to stay dry and dust free with daily use, the Smart Cat Box is perfect for diabetic cats and multi-cat households. Rather than using absorbent litters, the patented design drains urine past non-absorbent litter into a removable reservoir. Other litters quickly become a mess and stay wet—but the non-stick SMART CAT litter dries quickly and helps eliminate odors, even under heavy use. The urine reservoir (shown partially removed, photo above left) holds up to 24 oz (0.7 L) to help prevent overflow. Empty collected urine by simply sliding out the reservoir, draining the urine and flushing down the toilet. To guard against spills, the reservoir includes an integrated corner spout. SMART CAT now offers two types of non-absorbant, ecologically sound litter! Pick the one your cat prefers best, the specially grown super-size, super-non aborbsent NutraSaff safflower seed litter or the less expensive but still excellent Seedtec safflower seed litter. With use of either litter, solid waste easily scoops free from the non-stick, small pellets. One bag may last up to six months, depending on usage. Odor is almost non-existent for either litter. If you do notice some odor, it can be easily controlled with a periodic water rinse of the pellets and an intermittent sprinkling of baking soda.
