The story of Ambiguous started in the mid 90s with a single word unceremoniously taped above the dorm room bed of founder Frank Delgadillo. Vague. Never one to settle into the standard mold, Frank chased the Pure Dream of making a living doing the things that make you happy. In his case, making clothes his friends would want to wear. Artists, musicians, skateboarders, snowboarders, surfers - his friends, became his company. And with their help Ambiguous took shape, providing stores with designs that stood out from current trends back in the mid 90s. With strong roots taking a firm hold, Ambiguous continued to build its name on its design credentials and an indifference to convention and explanation. The raw, fresh clothes gained an undrground following within the southern California boarding community and would eventually attract Japanese kids and the attention of the business world.
