See more » By Fiona Govan in Madrid Last Updated: 10:06PM GMT 05 Nov 2008 Wayne Crowsley, 42 and his partner David Davis, 36 have been unable to sell the Andalusian property they spent three years restoring and have decided instead to offer it as a prize in a lottery. Tickets for the draw went on sale this week for 25 euros each and the lucky winner will find themselves the owner of a renovated cortijo comprising a four-bedroom farmhouse, seven holiday apartments and a swimming pool set in 15 acres of countryside. "It will be a wonderful thing to just hand over the keys to someone and change their life forever," Mr Crowsley told the Daily Telegraph. The property developers, originally from Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, bought the run down Cortijo San Blas in the Los Velez area in southern Spain in 2005 and embarked on a restoration project that took three years to complete. In January this year the property went on the market for 1.5 million euros but despite lots of interest no offers were made. "We decided to move back to England for family reasons but found we were unable to sell in the current economic climate. Lots of people came to view the place and said it was lovely but it wasn't the right time to buy." Mr Crowsley said they hit upon the idea of a lottery after comments made by guests renting the holiday apartments over the summer. "Guests love the place and when they heard it was for sale would say 'well, if we won the lottery we would definitely buy it' so we decided to run our own lottery for the place," he said. They hope to sell 88,000 tickets before the draw on May 1st 2009 through their website www.sanblasforsale.com and are offering a 'buy 4 tickets and get 1 free' incentive. "I don't think it will be a problem selling that many tickets over the next 6 months - after all the odds are pretty good and the prize is fantastic," said Mr Crowsley. "It's a chance for someone to live the life they've always wanted for only 25 euros." See less »

The telegraph covered this story and i think the real estate is fantastic. They have a video of it also which makes it legitimate.
