Simple syrup is a mixture of sugar and water that is heated until all the sugar has been dissolved. You can use simple syrup in tons of stuff and even flavor them. I have one on hand that's lavender infused (make a simple syrup then steep lavender flowers in it). thanks to gregsgal

Gregsgal is the expert on these. There are SO many flavors and ways to make them a have to pull out a book sometimes. I do believe there is one with basil. I have to look.

I'm a fan of the regular lime and mint ones, but I've heard of tons of different flavors.

Not only mojitos, I like COSMOS! om nom nom. I don't care about the whole "manly" drink thing. I go out for drinks with one of my female friends pretty often, and she only drinks Makers rocks, which sounds funny when I order a long island, and the bartender gives her the long island, haha
