I ordered a mini dog tag styled necklace from Swank in Mid July for my August 5th birthday with two tags (one for each of my chldren's names). I placed the order early because I wanted to be sure I had it for my birthday. The necklace came (before my birthday) and one of the stones was dettached from the dog tag (it was still in the bag that the necklace came in). I contacted Swank and they put me in contact with Denise who told me to send back the dog tag and stone and they would reattach it. They did not offer to pay for shipping (which cost almost $5 dollars priority 2-3 day). A few days after I sent out the tag and stone, I was wearing the one dog tag that I had kept, and looked down and the stone on that one was missing. I contacted Swank and was told to send it back and they would put a new stone in it and send it back to me. So now I was out another $5 for shipping because they did not offer to pay for shipping (to Swanks credit I did not ask either, but I believe it should have been offered). I didn't have either of the tags on my birthday. They offered to give me a 25% discount on my next Swank purchase (which I never received). I waited a few weeks and finally both of my dog tags arrived in the mail together. I was excited to get them back. I had only had them for a couple of days when I looked down and noticed one of the stones had fallen off AGAIN. Also the tags were beginning to tarnish. I contacted Denise immediately at Swank about this and left a message. I did not hear back. I contacted her again a few days later and heard a recording (from the phone company) saying her phone was disconnected. I was starting to think maybe I was scammed. I sent her an email. About a week later she responded and told me that Swank was going to resolve the issue and send me a new necklace free of charge, and refund me my original $82.50 that I had paid for the necklace. Several weeks later I still had not received the necklace in the mail or heard any sort of an update on the issue from Swank, so I emailed Denise. I was told my necklace would be coming soon. I finally received it about a week ago. One of the stones (the pink one) is the wrong shade of pink (the original stone I ordered was a brighter pink, this one is a baby pink). But I do not plan on disputing this. At this point I just want to get on with my life. I still have had no refund to my credit card. I contacted Denise on Tuesday through email about this. It is now Thursday and I still have not heard back. I am very upset about Swanks customer service and feel that the product is NOT worth the money. It tarnishes and I have had 3 stones fall out of a 2 stone necklace! I am very disappointed in Swank. Because of the celebrity following I had high expectations for the quality of product and service of the company. I had told all of my friends about the company and many of them were excited to see my necklace so they could place their orders also. I am also sad because there was another necklace I fell in love with and was planning on purchasing from the website but now that I know about the faults in quality and customer service I will not be getting that one. I would not recommend Swank to a friend. There are plenty of other stores on Etsy that make just as nice of necklaces for less than half the price. At least that way if you get one and it tarnishes you won't have wasted $100. UPDATED: About 2 hours after sending this email to Swank, I received a Paypal verification email that $82.50 was being credited back to my account. There was no mention of the wrong colored stone on my final necklace. I wonder if they even read my email.
