I have this, and I LOVE it. Yeah, I wish it had a standard earphone jack, but regardless, I've never been happier with a phone.
I was going to get on of these but held out for the Vario iv- (aka htc touch pro)- a better phone overall but running Windows mobile. If you do get a g1 then goto http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=446 This is the site for info about hacking/ modding your G1 (aka HTC Dream).
