home depot you can buy paint, lights, etc...pretty much anything for your new home....pier 1 is rather expensive--$160 won't get very far

I love Pier One, but I think you'll get more use out of this one.

You'd be surprised at what you can find at Home Depot. Pier 1 has more decorative items for higher prices, but Home Depot has SO much.

pier 1 if you are more into decorating and home depot if you need more home "improvement" like closet shelves, etc
