Is there a special tag for gadgets Giz makes fun of as pointless and yet is perfectly common outside of the US? Here's yet another one. Cuz ya know, I thought the Giz didn't hate, it appricate them gadgets. Maybe you guys could follow Kotaku and get some international staff on board... I struggled with the dishwasher thing for a while too - small apartments in Chicago produce just as many dirty dishes as they do in NYC.... :-) I found one of these on craiglist.com for $100 and it was the best thing since sliced bread. 4 dishes? Not so, friend. I was able to fit 4 large plates, 4 small plates and a combo of glassware/bowls complete with all the silverware I used while eating off of said dishes in this machine. My opinion? This is the best thing since sliced bread. When I moved to a place with more room in the kitchen, I swapped it out with a pal of mine who bought a full sized portable dishwasher. Now he has mine and refuses to tradeback with me.... A unit very similar to this (it looks just like it without the fancy lights cleaned my dishes better than a full sized portable unit. The worst mistake I made was trading this for a bigger unit. This is perfect for two people living in a smaller apartment and can handle much more than it looks like it can. Also, I cook all the time and would run the thing every two days or so. If I had more dishes, I would run it twice, back to back, and be all finished in two hours with a total of 5 minutes work (including loading and unloading). I love having a dishwasher - it is much cheaper than a mail order bride or hiring a cleaning professional...
