When choosing eyeshadow the most important thing to remember is YOU! The key is to select an eyeshadow opposite of your own eye color. Brown eyed girls have it the best! They can play around with any color they want. The chart below does not have a space for hazel eyes. The reason for this is because they are not just one color. Hazel eyes are either a mixture of blue and green or green and brown. So depending on which kind of hazel eyes you have, will depend on where you place them in the list below. For example, if you have blue-green eyes, choose the shades that work best for the blue and green categories. If you have brown-green eyes, choose the shades in the green category. Skin tone is another factor when choosing an eyeshadow. Women with dark ebony skin should not choose an eyeshadow that is too white or light. Likewise, women with fair, pale skin might want to stay away from eyeshadow that is too dark. Subtle, natural colors look better during the day and dramatic shades are best for the evening. Also, you do not have to match your eyeshadow to your clothing. Think of makeup as an accessory to you, not to your clothing. Matching your makeup to your clothing can actually wash you out sometimes. As with eyeliner, choose a natural shade such as taupe, black or brown to define your eyes. Colored eyeliners can draw attention to your eyes by making the color pop, but I recommend saving them for when you want to make a more dramatic makeup statement. List of eyeshadow and liner that work the best for your eye color: Blue Eyes: Liner - warm brown, taupe Shadow - rich warm browns, warm taupes, soft peaches Green Eyes: Liner - red-brown, taupe, purple Shadow - golden browns, warm taupes, deep purples, soft peaches, soft violets Brown Eyes: Liner - rich brown, charcoal, taupe, purple Shadow - golden brown, blue, green, light mahogany, purple Grey Eyes: Liner - charcoal, deep brown Shadow - charcoal, cool brown, purple
