churchmany 10:39 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 I have two of these. I used them dilligently for a month on my front and back door, and then they quickly just began to sit there, not getting used. Now I believe my dog has eaten most/all of them. * 10:40 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 CrispyAardvark 10:40 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 I would see more prank value in these than security. * 10:49 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 Wolfess 10:49 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 Oh boy. I tried one of these devices once, and they are loud, very loud. I had to use ear plugs when testing it out, because the first time I tested it, I actually had my vision go black for a few seconds due to overstimulation of my sense of hearing. It was a bizarre moment when I found myself fumbling with my hands to find the off switch, unable to locate it by sight. This is blaringly loud, and you have to be able to physically get to the device to turn it off. So I think these things are actually very dangerous to use in the home. * 10:53 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 yogibimbi 10:53 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 but at least you'd know when your mom opened the basement door so you could stop doing whatever it is you're doing - yeah, right, would be so much better if you try to yank your pants up from around your ankles while 110 dB are jarring your hearing... Talking about jarring... At first I confounded Sayid Jarrah with Ziad Jarrah, the guy from United Airlines Flight 93, but then some googling led me to the right name. Anyway, the other Jarrah would also have had use for an electronic watchdog. * 11:17 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 frigg 11:17 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 You could make a pretty effective DIY chastity belt out of one of these things. * 11:48 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 1 reply zolielo 11:48 PM on Mon Feb 2 2009 How about the opposite?
