The TI-86 graphing calculator by Texas Instruments was designed with power in mind. The TI-86 has all of the functions of the TI-85 but advanced features that is geared toward college level math, science and engineering. A function evaluation table is included on the TI-86 as well as a deep entry recall, seven graph styles with multiple line and shading and slope and direction fields. The TI-86 is packed with 96 KB of memory, which is three times that of the TI-85. Also on this calculator you receive a function evaluation table that is not available on the TI-85. The TI-86 has all the same matrix features as the TI-85, but has a new matrix editor that allows you to see and edit matrices in two dimensions. You're also able to see lists and attach formulas to the lists for automatic computations. The TI-86 is also great for calculus features such as derivatives, integration, minimums, maximums, roots and arcs. The crisp and clear display screen with its 64x128 pixels is super-easy to view. The screen displays 8 lines by 21 characters as well as two levels of display menus. You may darken or lighten the screen by using the cursor and the 2nd key. For ease of use, you can enter the functions you use a lot into the Custom menu.
