There has never been as popular category as social networking today. Many social networking sites with their own niche and features comes out these days, and some, even go head-to-head with the existing social networking sites, creating an even tougher competitive environment (and a hell of a red sea competition). Today, social networking category will have its newest entry as it’s preparing itself for its launch date. The new site is called Trig. Trig is a web2.0 ajax-based soon-to-be-launched social networking site. With Trig, you can change your profile skin, browse members and add them as your friends, comments on other members’ profiles, participate in forums, get your own gallery and blog, tag your pictures, blogs, and friends, and send/receive messages to/from your friends and other members with the Trig messaging system. If you like what a certain user has in his or her blog, gallery, or comments you can show that user your appreciation by giving it a “Trig“, simply by clicking the “Trig This!” button. Trig works similarly like Digg. You can only trig each item once. Every time when you see the “Trig This!” button, you can click it and trig something. When you do not see the buttons anymore, it means that you already have trigged that item. You can also put tags on almost anything on Trig. Trig makes it possible to find friends, blog posts, and images by tags. It makes browsing Trig a little more creative, since you can look for people (and other things) who have been tagged, for example, “funny”, “hillarious”, “handsome”, or even “hot” and “sexy”. There’s also a nice shoutbox feature in the browse members page. Trig offers an easy to use interface with a creative way of implementing a Digg-like system. Think of Trig as Digg for Social Networking. It is a nice addition to an already solid system. It’s too bad that Trig does not allow us to modify our own skins, but the skin selection lineup is quite good (12 so far). We certainly hope it would grow bigger in number when it launches. WorldTechLogic has posted many social networking websites in different categories in the past, music (HayStack, JamGlue, Sonific’s SongSpots, Last.FM and SellABand), designer/illustrator (AmateurIllustrators), golf (GolfBuzz), moms (MommyBuzz), etc. Unfortunately, Trig is not open for public yet. You can ask for an invitation by typing your email HERE! Trig survive in the battle of the social networks? We’ll find out soon enough when it launches.
