As part of our involvement in the SCA, Buck (Dyfn ap Meurig) and I (Derbail inghean Conchobhar) are both committed to doing Celtic personas, and doing them well. I realized part of my discontent stemmed from my discomfort in late period clothing. I truly admire people who enjoy later period garb and look wonderful in it, but the truth is, I hate corsets. I don't have the figure for a cotehardie, the appropriate garb for the early 14th century Catriona Fergusson. Moreover, I dislike complicated sewing (though handwork is lots of fun). I am a simple woman who likes weaving, gardening, herbs, and cooking. I could find all those things and more with a Celtic persona. Moreover, it would be a great way to showcase my weaving! I decided that I would like to share my enthusiasm for Celtic things with other people. Buck is in some ways a bigger Celtophile than I am, so he shared in my enthusiasm. We launched TriSpiral in September, 2000, distributing hard-copy issues to our friends and at events. As of January 2001, we have gone to a 100% online format. If you need Adobe Acrobat Reader, please download here. It's free! What do we expect from TriSpiral?
